Cat? You're a Virgo with sag moon? Coolies... Me too. There's this one question that's been bugging me, though. How do you know if a planet is strong in a person's chart or not? I read it in Zen's article but I don't know what it means. IP: Logged |

Cat! Of course you LOVE your moon. Your Moon is in Sagittarius. You LOVE EVERYTHING!!! X3Me...patience, patience ... it will all click in your head as you learn more and more. And since you're a Virgo with Sagittarius Moon, I'm sure you'll learn it all very fast, leaving no stone unturned Maria IP: Logged |

Zen:What I was asking for is the definition of "strong". Maybe I'll find out the implications of a planet being strong on my own, but I gotta know what strong means, right? It's like songs on the radio... I've heard numerous songs on the radio, but about 45-60% of them I don't know the title, but I know the songs. So if I understand the astrological concepts et al eventually, I may understand what a strong sign is (based from a chart, though i doubt I'll be able to reach that level anytime soon), but never knew that it is strong! Er... did anybody get that? IP: Logged |

I'm still (smack dab) in the middle of the learning process myself, but as far as I can tell the definition of "strong" relies on a number of factors. If a planet's in a house and/or sign that it's "comfortable" with and aspected by other planets/points that fit it... or something like that. I'm only decent at ferreting out the really obvious ones so far.For instance, my Mars (the co-ruler of my Ascendant) is in Leo & the 10th House and Conjunct Jupiter and North Node. It's also Square my Uranus. I've been told that I have a pert dern active Mars. A Mars, say, in the 6th in Cancer square Saturn may not be so happy. I still get tripped up the more ambiguous cases. Going off an example from my chart ('cause - hey - that's what I know), my Sun is in the 5th (a strong position) trine my 1st House Uranus... and forms a tight square with my Neptune and Opposition with my Saturn. So... Hope that helps. IP: Logged |

Hi X3me There are several things that would make a planet strong in a chart. To give you a couple of examples..... In my chart Uranus is in my 11th house (which is it's natural home - Uranus rules Aquarius, which natually is the 11th house) The Moon is also strong in my chart as it sits in my 4th house - which again is the Moons natural home.Uranus is also a singleton in my chart (only planet I have in water) - so that again gives it a strong influence in my chart. Saturn is unaspected in my chart - which again gives it strength. Mercury is also strong as my Mercury is in Virgo (which is it's ruler) plus it's my chart ruler (Virgo ascendant) Hope that gives you a general idea. Sue IP: Logged |

X3me,Cat and Proxieme have hit the nail on the head. My Moon is in Cancer and it is trine my Sun in Pisces. Now, this is a STRONG moon, in rulership and close to my ascendant. That doesn't mean it can't have problems (it does as it's involved in a t-square) but the Moon is a dominating feature in my natal chart. The strength of a planet is measured in different ways. Ancient and traditional astrology actually give a planet points (plus or minus) based on various criteria. Venus in my horoscope is in Aries, in her fall. She is involved in a t-square with that very strong Moon. Venus rules my ascendant. This planet is hindered in my chart (we can consider her weak). Her influence is blocked in some way. Generally speaking, a planet in an angular house can be strong. A planet in the sign it rules or is exalted in is usually strong. Hope this helps. Maria IP: Logged |

Yikes! Information overload. Gimme time to process this... Lol... I really should watch what i wish for... I just might get it. I suffer a lot from foot-in-mouth disease. lolSo... based from the description, merc is strong in my chart coz it's in virgo and my sun sign is virgo and asc is in gemini, right? Maybe jupiter is as well coz it's in sag... Did I get them correctly so far? Helped a lot clearing things out. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Same here! Confused is how I feel the more I try to understand. So the strength is not necessarily the aspect but the position the planet holds that makes it strong or not?? My Jupiter in Sag conjuct the Scorp asc. is strong because it is its sign? and/or because it is in the 1st house? not because it is in conjuction with the ascendant?? or is it because everything adds to make it a strong planet or position? Because if its position in angular house? than my Sun in Pisces on the cusp of the 4th,Mercury and Venus in Aries in the 4th house would be strong? or the Mars in Gemini in the 7th ? but the houses are 'them' houses...wouldn't hte 'me' planets feel weakened in such a spot?(It's my third cup of coffee and I have two projects to finish for tommorrow and one paper to hand in...I'm a bit hyper!!!!!) Hi Brunnhilde I went crosseyed reading your post Ok.... Try to take it one step at at time so that you don't get information overload First - Check through all of your planets and which sign they are in. Are any of them in their "natural" sign? eg: Jupiter in Sagittarius. Next step - Which houses are they in. Are any of them in their "natural" house? Take a look at those for now Sue PS: Good luck with your two projects and paper, I hope you get them finished in time IP: Logged |

Xme3,You did a good job! Mercury seems to be very strong in your chart. Jupiter in Sagittarius would be a strong, powerful Jupiter. I like that word...powerful Maria IP: Logged |

I've got 4 planets in Sag (moon, jupiter, uranus, neptune) so is jupiter very powerful there? My planets all seem bunched up from the 3rd to the 7th houses. IP: Logged |
