 Each planet has a special affinity to one or more signs. This is known as rulership. Planetary rulerships of signs are important to memorize, because they help you form links between concepts in the chart. Rulership describes an affinity between a planet and a sign. Every planet has a sign which seems to match it. The energy of Aries, for example, is very similar to the planet Mars. While Mars is in Aries, he is “at home” and able to more comfortably express his basic nature. Committing rulerships to memory makes the task of reading charts much easier! Planet................ Moon........................ Cancer
Mercury..................... Gemini and Virgo
Venus....................... Libra and Taurus
Mars........................ Aries
(Traditionally* Scorpio)
Jupiter..................... Sagittarius
(Traditionally* Pisces)

Uranus...................... Aquarius

Something you reminded me of, (since were talking glyphs)
notice that Virgo and Scorpio are the same except for the tail (sex).
Virgos goes down (doesn't want any, the virgin)
Scorpios is up (wants sex, regeneration)I've noticed that Chiron is (co-ruling?) the 9th. Why does this not surprise me? In fact it fits. Other than the south node there are no planets exalted in Sag. IP: Logged |

Thank you lala. Great point! What a very good way to remember those similarly looking glyphs.  Interesting info on Chiron. I just read somewhere it was the higher octave ruler of Virgo...?  Let me know of any more info you find on Chiron and what it rules. I have a feeling we havent figured out everything we need to about that important asteroid..... *edit, I'll try to find the article I was reading this in.
