If I could make one small personal request, I'd like to ask that everyone try to refrain from asking me to look into their own birth and relationship charts, please. I would rather the questions posed to be ones that the whole group could learn from somehow. I would like to try and create some lessons that will help everyone learn how to read charts and to become Astrologers! After learning the basics, and filling in any gaps you may have in your astrological knowledge you will be well on your way to interpreting charts. By starting from the beginning and learning step-by-step, it will enable you to answer your own questions, which is really why we are here, to learn how to put the peices together. Also due to time constraints and the amount of students, I wont be able to look at charts individually.
As I said, this is just a personal request and I thank you all very much for understanding.

i study astrology a lot on my own so i am excited that you are offering to lend your time and energy to help teach!

i would really like to learn about transits. im not sure what the others here are interested in but if its ok with you and the others here i would like to study about that.

beebuddy, I will put together something on transits at some point soon. I love looking into them too. One thing I have learned is that they must not be read alone. Always read any predictive or relationship chart alongside the natal. That is very important. You cant leave out that peice of the puzzle, without leaving alot of questions unanswered. So, become the best you can be at interpreting natal charts before you move onto the rest. I bet you would really enjoy a book called, The Art of Predictive Astrology by Carol Rushman. It is one of my favorites.

basically all of the signs, houses and aspects are understood. what im wondering is in what way the signs and houses play off each other in an interpretation.

Great question! (I actually made a lesson on this. It's the first one I did. This is very important to know and understand properly.) Think of it this way:

In astrology you will be dealing with four factors:

Planets, Signs, Houses and Aspects

*PLANETS are the energies. "What" energy is actually operating.

*SIGNS are "How" the energies operate. The planets in the signs indicate character - the individual pattern from other lifetimes. The signs show how the energy (the planets) is conditioned and how it operates. The planets in the signs show your capacity, ability or power to achieve what is indicated by the nature of the planets. SIGNS are the type of energy a planet has at its disposal, or needs, for proper functioning. Signs qualify or color the energy of the planet(s) in it

*HOUSES show "Where" the energies will work; the circumstances. Houses indicate the environmental pattern where you will work out your destiny. They indicate the opportunities offered by your environment. Houses are "Where" a planetary energy operates or is released in your life; the particular arenas and circumstances each of your planets operates in.

*ASPECTS (the flow of force between the planets) show your use or abuse of the energies operating in your magnetic field. They show dispositions and the predispositions to action and reaction.

The birthchart shows tendencies and conditioning. Remember though, that if our true self is operating, WE rule our stars (energies), we are NOT ruled by them. They show what CAN happen. Not what WILL happen.

Remember this, really let it sink in, and you know alot. Hope that answers your question.
