Welcome Ginger, You're another one with a stellium in the 5th house, but for right now we'll start with your Virgo Ascendant Virgo Ascendant (Howard Sasportas) With Virgo rising, the birth into individual selfhood comes through mental analysis, discrimination, self-criticism and the process of defining the self more and more specifically. Often this entails developing greater skill and proficiency in the chosen field of work or area of creative expression. As an Earth sign, there is the need to employ knowledge purposefully; to be useful, productive and of service. Virgo on the Ascendant draws attention to the physical body and the concern for its smooth functioning. The practical management of the mundane necessities of daily life is also an issue for this sign rising. Virgo in this position can be associated with what might be called 'the proper assimilation of experience'. Experience, like food, needs to be chewed over and then digested. Catabolic processes in the body separate what is valuable and worth integrating from what is toxic and poisonous. Virgo rising shoudl apply this process to the digestion of life-experience. Through analysing the self and life in general, they can extract from experience whatever is most conducive to their well-being. What is not constructive must be acknowledged and recognized but ultimately cleared out and eliminated. Holding on to such things as negativity and resentment for too long means that the psyche, and sooner or later the body, becomes clogged, weakened and poisoned. With Virgo rising, there is the danger of becoming so obsessive about order, correctness and precision that a person loses touch with spontaneity and flow. Where Virgo boxes itself in and becomes overly tight and rigid, Pisces appears in one form or another to say 'relax, let go, relinquish control, and let yourself indulge occasionally'. Pisces on the Descendant encourages Virgo rising to relate with others more compassionately and with a greater degree of sacrifice and acceptance than judgemental and critical Virgos usually allow themselves. Through the Pisces Descendant, Virgo rising gains the kind of understanding that dawns when the heart is open and receptive. There is more to life then just that which can be measured, compartmentalized and tested. Virgo on the Ascendant usually gives a neat, wiry body, capable of efficient and economical movements. Often the person looks considerably younger than the actual age, and a youthful appearance is retained even in the later years. The placement by sign, house and aspect of its ruling planet Mercury will shed more light on the person's appearance as well as his or her major focus of interest.

Thank you lalalinda. This is so interesting as well as true for me in many ways... My Virgo & Pisces are always keeping me in spin cycle. Would you believe it took me 2 years just to get use to my oldest child, in that things didn't stay where I put them? So, yes, I do have to stop myself, and say, ok, why fight it? It makes me nuts for things not to be in place, I am forever cleaning & organizing. I have an aunt who loves for me to come over, especially for this reason. And i have a sister, 2 years younger than me that looks 10 years older, no one would believe me that I was the oldest, so I don't try to argue the point, I now have an older sister. And from the looks of things, my baby sister, by almost 15 years, is starting to look older than I am. So soon, I'll have 2 older sister's. Really though, this is nice to know, because I always figured it was because I had them by a few more pounds that kept the face looking younger, and worried that if I ever did loose the extra, that I'd look really old. So now, I'm not gonna worry about it as much. And the self analysing... *shew* So that's one of the connections with all the self-help, as well as astrological book absorbtion. *nods* IP: Logged |

Happy Birthday Sweetie, When I started this morning, yours was my first but I couldn't get passed seeing your B-date as April 9 (I do know your are a Pisces) so I left and then returned only to realize that it is your Progressed B-day that is April 9th Linda Goodmans birthday, I'd say thats a good sign We're on Mercury right now, very important in your chart, ruling your Ascendant, yours is in Pisces and in the 7th (Julia and Derek Parker) The mind works in a disorganised and intuitive way; decisions and opinions will emerge rather than be consciously taken. Kindness, sympathy and empathy for others is considerable, but often there is forgetfulness and even carelessness, leading to confusing situations that the individual finds difficult to resolve. It is difficult to develop constructive thinking and practicality. However, a practical approach is not entirely necessary, for the subject's strong intuitions are usually right. Much care is needed when coping with worry, for there is vivid imagination which can make the subject fear the worst. A tendency to take the line of least resistance is sometimes combined with deceitfulness. Usually when untruths are told it is in order not to hurt others, but cunning is not altogether absent. This placing does not support self-confidence; and shyness or self-effacement is sometimes present. If the Sun sign is Pisces, the subject often becomes rather scatter-brained, surrounded by confusion and muddle. However, here is also great kindness and sympathy, and a wonderful imagination which must be channelled and constructively used. When under stress, there may be a tendency to deceive the self and others by falling back on negative escapism. Parents whose children have this placing must gently but firmly encourage truthfulness. Any indication of creative potential should be encouraged, as self-expression through the arts (especially photography) is desirable.
Mercury in the 7th (Stephanie Camilleri) Those with Mercury in the seventh have a great interest in people in general, and in what makes them tick. They want to experience the gamut of human relationships. Much here will depend on the aspects to Mercury. If trines and sextiles predominate, they will be the most pleasant and understanding of companions. With chiefly hard aspects, difficulties will be defined by the planets involved. Usually they are pleasant, even exciting, in one-to-one relationships. With oppositions, squares, and inconjuncts, they may have trouble with the way they relate to groups. They may be paranoid, think too much about what others are doing or saying, and worry too much about how they appear to others. They may originate rumors or stir up trouble, usually in an anxious effort to discover opinions about themselves. This interest in people usually results in an understanding of others, not so much by empathy, which would require other placements, as by knowing so many different types that repetitisions are bound to occur, so that there finally develops a clinical knowledge of the ins and outs of the human psyche. These people can't be accused of being locked up in themselves. They look to others in order to know and understand themselves. On the path to self-knowledge, they may give themselves over completely to a teacher at some point, or go from teacher to teacher, ever seeking self-revelation. They are not usually secure enough in their egos to seek the limelight. They are usually restless, without as well as within, seeking an ideal place to dwell, and will travel a lot, or go from one living place to another. They may even try to change themselves totally in some way once or twice by moving away from home, changing their names, and so on. They are not particularly faithful to mates; but if a mate leaves them, or is unfaithfful, they will suffer agonies. They are forever seeking a place or a group that can reflect back a good image of the self. They may complain bitterly if things are not just right; yet they cannot bear to hear others complain.
Moon sextile Mercury (Haydn Paul)
With the sextile, the Mercury qualities are often more emphasized, as this aspect is associated with the mind, information, understanding, and communication. THe lunar personality foundations are usually well established and not disruptive or unduly intrusive. You should be able to express your Moon's qualities in ways which also enhance Mercury qualities. Information and knowledge will be especially appealing; and perhaps you will have an almost insatiable curiosity and need for wide and extensive intellectual exploration. For you, the world is like an immense store-house of fascinations, your mind lighting up with interest as every new one comes into view. You could become a 'perpetual student', loving to explore each topic to the greatest possible depth, and perhaps becoming expoert in limited areas of knowledge. Alternative, this could result in a dilettantish tendency, sampling many varieties of knowledge but rarely exploring deeply. Both memory and comprehension are likely to be above average, thus creating a well-stocked intellect. What can emerge as a motivation is a need to be socially useful by contributing to your community. To achieve this, you hope to discover ways to transform thoughts and ideas into practical results. The sense of value and pleasure this gives serves to encourage increasing your knowledge. The issue of right direction may arise in this context; and you may decide to become involved with civic and social groups, pooling your assets and abilities with those of others to achieve group objectives. Generally, you look at ideas as sources for practical action and possibly personal profit, as you possess an effective business and organizational ability which could also be successfully exploited. You can be an effective communicator, conveying ideas and presenting them in a clear and persuasive manner, being articulate and literate, entertaining and interesting. This can manifest in writing and lecturing, and can be beneficial in social communication, especially in activities which increase contact with groups. This can extend your influence and increase friendships; your personality is sufficiently flexible and tolerant to relate to many types of people. You may possess a sensitivity to others' thoughts and feelings, almost like a psychic intuition, but which operates through a Moon affinity of sensitivity and emotional rapport. THis can act as an 'early warning system', indicating when people or situations are less genuine than they appear; so trust these inner sensations and feelings whenever they arise. This sensitivity helps you to be tactful and diplomatic, whether in social contexts or within the family. Others can recognize your thoughtful and caring nature; and, provided that you do not become obsessive about manifesting your ideas, you should be able to co-operate and harmonize well with partners and family. Fortunately, your emotions rarely enter into direct conflict with your mind and ideas, but usually work with them in tandem, so that positive attitudes assist optimistic plans to become productive. This emotional and mental accord minimizes distracting inner conflicts and enables problem resolution to be achieved more smoothly. Your Moon's emotional wamrth and protective concern is an asset for family members and inimate relationships; and domesticity will be well organized, founded on close and effective communication. Home is important; but wider social involvement will be equally so, as this is often the environment in which you intend to apply your ideas practically. Both emotions and mind are recognized as offering valid mesages; but ensure that neither becomes imbalanced through overemphasis, as each performs an important role in different circumstances. Intimate partnerships, marriage, or love affairs will involve a high level of mutual communication and sharing; enriching both participants' lives and contributing to achieving personal aims. You will be attracted to similarly intelligent and optimistic partners who are able to exploit innate talents, especially those who conceive ambitions and then strive to achieve them. A danger is that, if two people are chasing individual goals and dreams, then conflict may occur if their paths begin to diverge rather than run parallel. Mercury square or opposition Jupiter (Karen Hamaker-Zondag) The unbalanced use of hard-aspect energy may make Jupiter too expansive, and the effect of this on voluble Mercury is to produce bragging, conceited talk, opinionatedness and inaccuracy. Taking big risks in Mercurial matters (trade, contacts, traffic) can be another consequence. But, even with the tense aspects, there is also a great deal of warmth in contacts with others. We like them to share our experiences and thoughts, and we can actively propagate ideas and become good teachers or advocates. Eager involvement in all sorts of things is a further probable result of these aspects, and, in fact, varied interests can turn out more successfully in some respects than they would have done had we had an easier aspect between the same planets. However, we shall have to overcome a certain amount of opposition because we try to do things at the wrong time and in the wrong way. Also thoughts are restless, even hyperactive, and we are always trying to see connections whether they exist or not. Quite frequently, we shall find that Mercury, as the objective, ordering factor in our make-up, causes trouble when we enter Jupiter's terrain (expansion, religion and the widening of one's horizon). This can create inner uncertainty about what we are doing, and probably, in order to convince ourselves that we are right, we try to convince others that we are right - a dubious enterprise. We need to be careful about how we word our opinions and about how we offer advice. With these tense aspects, ill-considered or exaggerated reactions run in the blood.

I'm just curious...Some of this sounds like me, and some of it doesn't. So, is this normal? Or does it all depend on the other planets & placements, and how they play together? IP: Logged | |
