i have noticed through my limited studies that when it comes to interpretation there are variances depending on whose view i am reading. the basic info is the same but some of the more in depth detail differs.

on astrodienst there is one interpretation from robert hand and an alternate one form robert pelletier. i have a book by joanna woolfolk, i have the message of the stars by heindel (pluto was not even in the book) and one on the way by tracy marks.

is this work patience, practice and a combination of knowledge? i am doing a chart for a friend and i would like to be as accurate as possible.

any thoughts?

Personally, I have discovered "less is more". An issue I have with a lot of the interpretations is that the person attempts to look at someone's chart and then TELL that person how their life went. However, the person doing the "telling" has NO direct experience about the other person's life, so many of their "tellings" end up being half truths, lies, or confused ramblings. Instead, just give the person the astrological basics (as shown in the link below) and let THEM figure out how they are using those energies in their life.

good points; who am i to dictate what has happened in a person's life, why and how. i am curious, though, why do other people offer such detailed explanations for money or for free?

to me astrology is a tool to better understand ours-elves. for one who is well versed in it, though, they may be able to shed some new insights for other's who may not have been able to see. not many people adhere to the Jesus saying, "let those who have eyes to see, see."

not all people are introspective. you say

it is like going to see a counselor and while they do not always give the answer, for yes, the answer lies in the individual, they can clear some of the "brush" and "muck" away from the path so that the person can begin to take that journey.

i am not saying that i do not agree with you; less, sometimes, is definitley more. in the same breath, though, when someone goes to an astrologer, aren't they usually wanting the detail? sometimes that is when one's eyes are truly "opened" for they can see the vailidity that other's have seen in astrology for centuries?
