if planets are close or on house cusps, how do you suggest taking them into account? the actual house they are in or the next one?

i actually feel a bit confused (from what i've read so far) and wondering about these:

my moon is on Sag 10*32 and ascendant on Sag 15*08 - is this taken into account as a 12th or a conjunct to AS (1st house) moon?

same goes with my Uranus, being also about 5* away from MC (Uranus Vir 27*34, MC Li 3*05).

and Neptune, which is on Sco 23*36 while house 12 begins on Sco 24*49.

If a planet is close to the cusp (edge) of a house, I count the planet as in BOTH houses. So, for example, a planet in the 2nd house but close to the 1rst house is in BOTH the 2nd AND 1rst house.

for the sake of the ‘exercise’, i arbitrarily ‘defined’ ‘close’ as 5* away from house edges (please correct me if i’m wrong) and here’s what came up:

Scorpio modifies Sun focused on 11th house
Sagittarius modifies Moon focused on 12th and 1st house
Scorpio modifies Mercury focused on 11th and 10th house
Virgo modifies Venus focused on 9th house
Capricorn modifies Mars focused on 1st house
Virgo modifies Jupiter focused on 9th house
Aries modifies Saturn focused on 4th and 3rd house
Virgo modifies Uranus focused on 9th and 10th house
Scorpio modifies Neptune focused on 11th and 12th house
Virgo modifies Pluto focused on 9th house

so this may mean:

Sun energy is about transformation modifying self-expression focused on friends.
the way I express my self in friendships / social groups, undergoes change and/or is done through trying to control people / situations?
i’m not so sure about this, but being in and out of friendships does describe a pattern in my life so far.

Moon energy is about expansion modifying home focused on spirituality and on being.
emotions are magnified in matters of spirituality and also in matters revolving around myself?

Mercury energy is about transformation modifying thinking focused on friends and on duty.
the way i think about friendships / social groups and responsibility / career issues undergoes deep changes?

This is all very good! Remember that understanding what the "astro-sentence" SAYS is MUCH easier than understanding what it MEANS. Keep at it, see where the energy in the chart is most strongly focused, look for "keywords" that repeat, look only at planet focused on house (this will help you to see the core meaning of the energy), etc. Keep "playing with" the "astro-sentences" and you will discover more and more meaning in them.

i am trying to do this exercise however i am having trouble with the houses? how can i interpret with my planets below?

like for example:

Sun energy= Aquarius modifies Sun focused on 11th house? since aquarius is in the 11th house? i am confused?

You're almost there! Always remember the "astro-sentence" SIGN modifies PLANET focused on HOUSE when doing astrology. If you want to take this step by step, go to the link below this post and work your way through the six steps to learning basic astrology.

Back to your example:
Aquarius = Sign
Sun = Planet
11 = House

So...AQUARIUS modifies SUN focused in 11th HOUSE

So you were right all along!

Now all you have to do is to put in the "keywords":
Aquarius (FRIENDS) modifies Sun (SELF-EXPRESSION) focused on 11th House (FRIENDS)

Then it is up to you to work to understand what the meaning of this is to YOU in your life.
