Sun Virgo
Moon Aquarius
Merc Libra
Venus Cancer
Mars Cancer
Jupiter Capricorn
Saturn Aries
Uranus Aquarius
Neptune Capricorn
Pluto Sagittarius

His Aqua moon has become more evident as I have gotten to know him (I've known him for several years). His venus and mars in cancer seem to contradict his aqua moon tendencies. I think he projects his venus onto me, because i find myself taking on a cancer/motherly role when around him even though i don't have any water influences in my chart. It's frustrating because it seems like he would want a motherly, feminine, devoted, even clingy type of woman. But in reality, his aqua moon makes him detached and craving freedom from a mate. What does he really want in a relationship?

I hear it is a combination of the two:
- venus is what attracts him, and more related to looks
- moon is the woman's personality he is drawn to, and what he needs.

He is initially attracted to his venus characteristics in a woman, then starts paying attention to his moon's needs.

Well i can't really tell, but lately ive seen like one thing thats very clear in a person is their moon sign, i have aquarius moon and venus in virgo, i usually am not as perfeccionist as a complete virgo guy but there are some requeriments for me to like , but something thats a MUST is the freedom i really cant be in possesive, very clingy relationships, i just start feeling so overwhelmed , i will try not to talk about it harshly but then i just start being cold with the person and more avoidant

I think you have answered a lot of the question you have posed already. It seems he wants to have a woman who respects his need for emotional freedom. At the same time, he is sexually and romantically attracted to women who exude a presence of a home maker and an all-around femininity. To me, the contradictory combination could be an indication of how in childhood, he really wanted a home making, caring, feminine mother but did not get that from his Aqua Moon. Therefore, he seeks such a woman in his mate in the outside world... yet he cannot let go of the deeply rooted psychological effects of having a distant, uncaring or perhaps cool/Aquarian mother, so too much up front emotion will likely be bizarre and foreign to him. So clinginess from a partner might make him feel perturbed or confused vs. hateful of it.

It's important to exhibit some Cancerian traits as he seems to desire this, but also respect the sort of home life and childhood he had and what that did to his ability to accept emotions and put out emotional displays towards others. Aquarians can be loving just as the other signs are, but it may take him more time.
