Hi everyone, I'm rather new in astrology and just started reading up on it over the last months. The meaning of the houses & planets, aspects... I understood natal charts have one most important planet, but I get confused there. Is the ruling planet of the ascendant most important (that would be mercury for me), the planet that's in opposition of the ascendant (would be Jupiter) or do I have to look at the pattern of the natal chart? I think (sorry very new to it) I have a 'bucket' which would mean the handle is Neptune. Anyone wants to shed some light? And how does a ruling planet effect an interpretation of a chart? If anyone would be so kind, thanks I posted it also in personal readings btw. IP: Logged |

Moon is in Taurus, exaltation but in a bad house and has a square to saturn and an opposition from Uranus. Yikes.Mercury in Virgo is great but receives a square from a Retrograde Neptune, probably more ungrounded and illusive for a Virgo Mercury Uranus is in Exaltation... Though for some reason your chart feels like its Saturn, Venus, and Mercury or even Jupiter something of a combo like that Color Horoscopes will help

Classic critical degrees are 0, 13, and 26 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn); 8-9 and 21-22 degrees of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius); and 4 and 17 degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). These are considered sensitive, and sometimes strengthening, points. If a natal planet is found in a critical degree, that planet is emphasized and assumes more power in the life of the native due to its placement.Copied from http://www.cafeastrology.com/criticaldegrees.html IP: Logged |

Here's another way to look at it: you have moon and jupiter in Taurus which is ruled by venus and pluto in Libra which is also ruled by venus. Your venus as well as mars and mercury are all in Virgo which is ruled by mercury and your asc is Geminii which is also ruled by Mercury. This makes Mercury the final depositor of six of your planets and your asc, so your Mercury in Virgo is the most important planet in your chart.IP: Logged |

Hey Jkitty Thanks for your take! Also very helpful. Mercury ruling does really fit my profession and outlook on life I suppose. Never grasped the Virgo side of things though. Organisation is my downfall, lol. IP: Logged |

Your Ascendant is in Gemini.Gemini is playful, chatty, curious, knowledgeable, easily bored, has short attention span, childlike, non-committal, friendly in its expression Does this resonate with you? Mercury is said to be the ruling planet of Gemini because, like Gemini, it is mental, agile, fast and clever. Mercury deals with all things mental; comprehension, understanding, verbal expression, logic and short-term retention. Mercury is in Virgo in your chart meaning that there is a compatible flow between self-expression(Gemini ascendant) and Mental expression (Virgo in mercury). You can be both eloquent and well versed(Virgo) , but also witty, charming and creative with words(Gemini). You identify wth your mind very much ; "I think, therefore I am"(Gemini), could very much resonate with you as the motto" I analyze, therefore I am"(Virgo). You are confident and authoritive when at your best (Mentally) and take pride in dispensing the knowledge and expertise that you have(Sun in Leo). However, you can also be "put off" by someone who dares to insult your mental capabilities. In this latter part especially, you can be fierce and unforgiving in such an opposing action. IP: Logged |
