Ami Anne, I have read The Shack and as I cannot say it changed my life per se, it is a very good read. However, it was highly emotional for me and that part had nothing to do with the main character seeing/hearing/being with God and the Trinity, it was what the main character WENT through that brought him to the shack in the first place. THAT part bothered me greatly and actually when I think about it, still does.Without giving away the plot, what happens to this main characters family, has been my greatest fear in life since the birth of my children...so reading something so realistic, grabbed me by my heart and wouldn't let go till the end.
Which, the ending completely threw me as I didn't see it coming AT ALL.
SO! I highly recommend you give it another chance, it was hard for me to get into it too but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I think I read it in 2 days.
Oh and I want to mention that I LOVE The Stand! I read it not long after it was published and I was in middle school. Now, THAT book I feel did make an impact on my life, as it really opened my eyes to the world you know? It made me wiser to the fact of anything is possible...
I didn't see this comment. Thanks for telling me!!
I never finished "The Shack" but my friend told me the story about what the mean went through.
Did you have abuse as a child? Is that why the character touched you so much?
You know what current book really touched me? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I have a feeling you will like it.
Tell me about you
