Hey such a newbie question but I’m at the very start of my astrology journey and I’ve noticed people asking others what is there 1st house or 7th etc. When I look at my chart my houses seem to overlap so I never know what to say. Looking at my chart are the 8th and 9th house both Sagittarius and why are some of the houses bigger than others IP: Logged |

The ruler of the sign on the cusp/start-degree of a house is considered to also be the ruler of that house. ... And the nature of that sign on the cusp is considered to influence the chart-owners approach to the activities of the house. ... So, "what is your 1st house" translates as "what is the sign on the cusp of your first house" - and it is clear from your opening post that you understand that convention. Your chart has two signs (Virgo+Pisces) that are not on the cusp of any house - and two signs (Cancer and Capricorn) which are on the cusps of two houses. ... So, your 4th+5th houses are Cancer; your 10th+11th houses are Capricorn; your 6th house is Leo; your 7th house is Libra; your 12th house is Aquarius and your 1st house is Aries. This intercepting and duplicating of two signs happens often in the charts of those whose ancestors believed that one should rob the rich to give to the poor.

Oh my goodness I really appreciate this reply so much and I love the way you explain things if that doesn’t sound to odd. Even I understand it haha. So interesting on what you said about ancestors too wow IP: Logged |
