I feel like I have finally graduated to a new "level" in astrology by looking at aspect formations but I still feel pretty amateur trying to interpret them lolI have a few questions on this topic so I am putting them all here. I'm using examples to ask these hypothetical questions. I would love to hear your personal experience! 1. Do asteroids and angles count in T-squares and Kite formations? For example, I noticed in my chart that I ALMOST had a t-square with Saturn and ALMOST had a kite too. Then I played with what shows on astrotheme and found that they showed up if I included asteroid and AS/MC aspects. But would an astrologer typically accept these? Are they weaker with asteroids and other points as opposed to the "classic" planets? Without asteroids and AS/MC aspects: With asteroids and AS/MC aspects: 2. Secondly, I would love any advice on dealing with them! Kites, grand trines, and t-squares in natal and/or composite charts! I noticed in this composite chart, for example, that we have two grand trines and one of them makes a kite and the opposition in it ALMOST actually connects to the second trine. I've read elsewhere on this forum that a grand trine is a strength in a relationship but also where you can get stuck in a pattern, so with the kite it helps to go to the opposition to get un-stuck. But in this case (especially if it were Mars making the kite and not Venus) would that then get the relationship stuck in another pattern? [Edit:] 3. What about when multiple planets are part of a point in the configuration? For example, in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's chart, which features a Grand Cross, her MC conjunct Mercury form one square, and Saturn conjunct Neptune form another. What exactly does this mean/how does it affect the energy of the Grand Cross? 4. What are your favorite resources - books or online - for learning about aspect formations? I've found a few places but nothing that really goes into the depth I want. How did you learn? Thank you! IP: Logged |

1. Do asteroids and angles count in T-squares and Kite formations? Initially, I'd look only at formations consisting entirely of planets ... since that minimises the likelihood of information overload. But, asteroids and angles can be included as/when you feel comfortable with doing so. ... Hence, I currently use the angles and Chiron - but lack the knowledge, and inclination, required to use any other asteroids. 2. Secondly, I would love any advice on dealing with aspect patterns! Kites, grand trines, and t-squares in natal and/or composite charts!
Aspect Pattern Astrology (by the Hubers) is the go-to guide on dealing with aspect patterns in the natal chart. ... And, when you are comfortable with interpreting them in the natal chart, how to interpret them in the composite will become apparent to you. 3. What about when multiple planets are part of a point in the configuration? First determine how the multiple planets will manifest as a blended combination of influences. ... Then, treat that blended influence as if it was a single planet at the configuration point.
For example, Mars-conjunct-Saturn = MarSat in the configuration. IP: Logged |

Thank you Graham!! I will check out that book. Yes, it's become almost instantly overwhelming just in my natal chart alone, with two kites and a mystic rectangle, plus some T-squares... I appreciate you saying to take it slowly! Thank you for your advice and input.IP: Logged |

The best way for anyone to learn about aspect patterns is by exploring them in our own natal chart, hand-in-hand with members of an internet forum. Why not do that on this forum, by opening a thread in the personal readings board? Alternatively ... would you find it helpful if I opened such a thread (to explore the patterns in my own natal chart)? ... Or expanded my existing thread at http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum11/HTML/026251.html ?

Graham, thank you so much. That is an excellent idea. I have never asked specifically for a reading of my chart before, but I'll be going through your thread... I've spent the past few days breaking down my aspect patterns like you said, and I feel I'm beginning to understand them! Maybe I will share my findings... Thank you!IP: Logged |
