Agreed! I have been reading up on progressed charts and it's an interesting other angle to consider

so I guess his progressed mars squar to my natal sun prevent us from forming a relationship....

BUT now his pr. mars trine my natal venus - less than a degree
AND his pr. venus conjunct my natal desc 1 degree applying

My pr. planets do not form any aspects with his natal placement though!

I'm starting to become more and more and more convinced that we can have the verry best synastry in the world but *without* the progressed greatness ... there's little or nothing left.
Ofcourse it depends on our natal placements if we're capable to *survive* together. But even if we can/do it seems a poor construction of what we had in the first place when we met under better progressions.

At the moment I only seem to be impressed by great progressions, and not that much by the synastry itself.

Btw I'm looking at all kind of relationships. And it seems its influence is unmistakable from the start of the traditional love kind to the relatively short & less driven by love ones (BUT driven enough to last for a ~little~ while) .. verry interesting!

Bumble, is the trine also applying (still)?
Do you notice a difference between you both with these current progressed placements?

I found out that with the new guy we have

My progressed Venus trines his natal Sun exact
His progressed Sun opposes my natal Venus exact

We also have a really tight Sun-Descendant conjunction in regular synastry, where he is the Sun, and relatively tight his DSC and my Venus conjunction.

I can't wait to see how this will play out.

It verifies for us too:

My progressed Sun conjunct his progressed ASC (1)
My progressed Venus conjunct his progressed ASC (2)
My progressed Venus opposite his progressed Sun (5)
His progressed Venus conjunct my progressed ASC (1)
My progressed Mars conjunct his progressed ASC (1)
His progressed Mars trine my progressed Sun (2)
His progressed Mars trine my progressed Venus (5)

You know what is funny?

After years of mediocre progressions between us (except for the Venus-Uranus, that seems to be always there), we now have his pr DESC conjunct my natal ASC. lol

the report on Westran`s site highlights these progressions for us:

his pr Venus quintile my natal Sun 0.4

his pr Venus square my natal neptune 1.7

his pr Uranus square my pr Venus 0.7
(See? Told you so, always there; when we met it was the reverse)

his pr DESC conjunct my natal ASC

his pr DESC conjunct my natal mars (sep)

Of course it doesn´t mention the pr Moons.

my pr Moon opposite his natal Venus (2 applying)
and squares his natal Pluto (1 sep)
his pr Moon opposite my natal Pluto, peaking now

his n mars quindecile my pr Venus

You know, Ceri, this is an interesting thought. I am thinking yes, we do look at progressed Sun and Venus as Westran and other astrologers say, but sometimes, like in your case, for instance, with your Uranus Jupiter midpoint and how it's involved there and the role Uranus plays in your chart, it looks as if it's a "love planet" for you, well, one of them, Neptune seems to play a role too, but the idea is: probably identifying those "love planets" in some charts and looking at their progressions and transits might be as telling as Venus, or even more, when it comes to triggering relationships. What do you think?

I absolutely gree.

For example Mercury ALWAYS carries 7th house symbolism with it for me, as it rules the 7th house, and mutually so, as it also rules his 7th house.

And yes, my Venus=Jupiter/Uranus is a very intriguing midpoint picture.

Interestingly he has
Venus= Saturn/Uranus
Venus= ASC/Uranus

ASC = Venus/Uranus

It's the same for me, Ceri, Moon (DSC ruler) and Mercury (5th/8th ruler) must be heavily aspected, but being the Moon I was never quite sure, since the Moon is supposed to be aspected anyway.

Yes, I get that about the Moon, but the Mercury seems to be a clear case. It is so much more than *just* communication to me, though well, maybe it is just that communciation leaves a different impact on me than on other people. lol
