Mars/Saturn in harsh aspect (especially the square) is a common marital aspect in synastry/composite, based on real-life charts. I'm sorry to say, but I believe Liz Greene's description of the aspect is over the top. All that "scheme" of Saturn... It is important, as Ceridwen says very well, when you have a square, for the two to work as a team, not against each other. If they don't work together, Mars and Saturn (and any square) can work against each other, yes. Mars/Saturn is one of the most constructive squares combining two work/action planets: Mars: pure action, initiative and drive, ability to break routines, Saturn: work stamina and control/organizational abilities. Perhaps one of the best squares in synastry, it also heralds sexual fidelity. Of course, it requires the Saturn fellow not to be a control freak and the Mars fellow/gal an impulsive freak Or if they are, that they work together In fact this square in its positive vibration brings a strong team spirit to the couple and the need to do tangible things together, no matter how difficult, and to build things. ------------------

Oh my. Poor guy I don't particularly like Mars/Saturn aspects either TBH. Mars is passion, meant to express itself and be open and impulsive about its feelings. Saturn stops it cold and may in many instances say something like "not now honey, I have a headache" If you happen to have Pluto,Uranus aspecting Sun/Moon/Venus, then it can certainly help things a lot when Mars is "discouraged" from expressing itself.

I'm Mars, he's Saturn. I have more warmth, more aggression, but also more excitement. He has less warmth, more callous, more detached, more serious. I find it boring, he gets annoyed at me. It can be difficult, but the sex can be really great.IP: Logged |

Apart Melanie/Banderas, who divorced after 19 years ( a very hot, sexual couple BTW) none of these couples are divorced. Even in their case, one can hardly imagine they had bad sex for 19 years. Nowadays, I guess almost 20 years is certainly a long-term relationship. There are only divorce rumors about SJP/Mathew Broderick, but that's it. EDIT: Brangelina's opp is indeed 7, Camilla/Charles square (6) ------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... IP: Logged |

Yes it is a TERRIBLE aspect. If it's the tightest aspect there will likely be abuse in the relationship even with other good things in the chart. The good thing about this aspect though is that the bond usually breaks by Mars leaving Saturn. Saturn does the abusing for the most part while Mars gets fed up and leaves. Saturn wants to control so he will not let Mars leave easily. I had this aspect with my father who was immensley controlling my growing up. When I was in my 20's I finally told him to go to hell and forbade him to ever contact me again. He ignored my wishes and repeatedly tried to contact me so I had to take legal action against him. That finally took care of him. That was 10 years ago. I wish I had cut him out sooner. Every time I've seen this as a tight aspect in synastry it has always ALWAYS been the mars person that left the relationship. (Just in the charts of people I've known anyway.) Come to think of it... I think Jennifer Aniston also had this with Brad Pitt? I think I'm right about that if I remember right. If so I'll bet anything she was Saturn and he mars since he's the one that left. IP: Logged |

I am beginning to feel the same way about my father and we share this aspect. He's always controlling everything I do. IP: Logged |

So everyone here says that Saturn wants to control Mars ! That's very true ! My Mars is inconjunct a guy's Saturn (and so my Saturn also) and it's exactly the ways people describe it here... Wants to control, not let Mars leave, big "attraction" (not that big, but I found him handsome but so dumb) and he hated me though he wanted to go out with me... I'm glad I found something that explains this. And Saturn inconjunct Saturn : big frustration in both sides... IP: Logged |
