Hello,This is a redirect from LeeLoo2014's post entitled Meryl Streep/Don Gummer. Please refer to that post for additional comments as well as a chart for these two featuring a number of relationship asteroids. Thanks! Meryl met Don in the mid 1970s through her brother. They never really "dated", co-habitating out of necessity (she had no place to live at the time), and things "developed." They married 9-15-1978. Time together: 36 years. Meryl on Don: "My husband understands the compulsion to create things. With somebody who had a regular job, I think it might have been harder to translate those creative impulses and the need to satisfy them ... I think you have to have somebody as a partner who shares what you value in life." NOTE: Don's birth time is UNKNOWN.

I'll start with Meryl's natal chart. 1. The majority of her planets, including all five of her personal planets, reside in the 4th quadrant of Social Expression. All but one (Jupiter) live in the Eastern Hemisphere. Per cafeastrology.com: "The native is generally self-motivated, initiating, action-oriented, and self-assertive. He or she tends to believe strongly in free will." 2. Meryl has a clear bucket planetary pattern with Jupiter as the handle. The Jupiter, therefore, serves as the "point of release" of the other planets in the bucket. Though Jupiter (according to the Placidus house system) technically resides in the 6th, it is conjunct the 7th and thus can be interpreted in both. 3. Jupiter in 7th in, per astro.com: You may rely heavily on your lover as a source of creativity and inspiration... Relationships are a prime source of learning for you, so an imperfect one is better than none at all. 4. Of note, if the theory that suggests we are drawn to individuals who reflect our 7th house (or planets therein) is correct, this would mean Meryl would be drawn to Jupiter types (Suns/Moons in Sag, full 9th house, Jupiter on ASC, etc.). 5. Jupiter is also at 0 degrees Aquarius for the critical degree interpreters out there. 6. All of her personal planets are in PERSONAL signs, the "children" of the zodiac. Meryl needs to be the "flower" in a relationship and, consequently, needs a "gardener" rather than another "flower." Ideally, her partner should have a preponderance of signs in social or universal orientation. There would be tremendous ego conflict otherwise. 7. Interestingly, the rulers of her ASC and DSC (Sun and Uranus) are exactly conjunct, separated by only a tenth of a degree, suggesting the needs of her EGO and the need to RELATE (on a solemn, serious level) are forever tied together, for better or worse. Don's chart is harder to interpret given the lack of a BT. 1. He exhibits the BOWL planetary pattern. It has been said that, somewhat like having a T-square, there is a desire to fill the empty "leg", or in the case of the bowl, the empty half of the chart. Whether he does this on his own or relies on a partner depends on other factors. 2. Concentrations: a. A stellium in Leo (Moon/Pluto/Saturn). b. A conjunction of Sun/Mars in Sag. c. A conjunction of Mercury/Venus in Scorpio. *He is heavily fire/water oriented (houses notwithstanding) = action/emotion. Consequently, he would do best with someone who also has a strong fire/water (either through actual signs, houses or rulerships). 3. With the exception of his Uranus, all of his planets fall into SOCIAL (interpersonal) and UNIVERSAL (transpersonal) signs. He is less egocentric than one with a strong concentration of personal sign planets.

Bump and also wanted to ask if you did/suggest if you didn't - look into Michelle Pfeiffer and David E Kelley. 21 years. And he's my astrotwin. ------------------ ~the raving one dancing in the nude~ IP: Logged |

Wiki says they married 9-30-1978? And that she lived with actor John Cazale for three years until his death in March 1978? IP: Logged |

Dancing Maenad: Great choice! When I did a couples study years ago, Michelle and David were included. Yeah, I will definitely put them on the roster. Mir: I'm not sure where I got that information, and it could be off. Go with wiki if you want to look at progressions. I need to get moving on their synastry so we can push on. Sorry about the delay! IP: Logged |

Synastry analysis:1. Okay, so as previously stated, Meryl's chart is full of personal sign planets, indicating she would do best with a partner who is NOT personal-sign oriented. Fortunately, Don fits this role well! 2. Interestingly, the "release point" of her bucket pattern is relatively unaspected to Don's chart. Though it and its ruler, Uranus, both aspect Don's Chiron. It's very possible one or the other makes a major contact to one of Don's angles which we cannot know. 3. Some may wonder why a Cancer-Taurus combo like Meryl would be drawn to a Sagittarius like Don (who also has his Venus conjunct Jupiter). Well, as previously noted, she has Jupiter conjunct the DSC. So here, too, he fits that need. Again, the importance of the 7th house varies from person to person. For some, the 5th house is more significant. Or the 8th. Or 11th... 4. Don is quite Scorpionic (in addition to Sag), with Mercury at 29 deg, and a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the water sign. His moon is also conjunct Pluto. So he would naturally be drawn to someone strong in this sign (by sign, planet, house or rulership). While Meryl has no planets in Scorpio, her Pluto is front and center in her 1st house! In addition, the ruler of her Pluto (Leo-Sun) and ruler of her 8th house (Aquarius-Uranus) are exactly conjunct, heightening their power. As for synastric ties, and I apologize if any of this is repeated from the other thread: 1. His Sun conjuncts her Vertex. His VX is unknown. 2. His N. Node conjuncts her Mercury which is quite strong in its ruler, Gemini. Her Mars may be a bit far away. However, declination may support one or both links. 3. There is a Chiron-Juno conjunction which has different interpretations depending on your school of thought but universally indicates a strong tie of some sort. 4. A T-square is formed between the two involving three of Meryl's angular houses: Her 10th house Moon opposes his Venus-Jupiter conjunction (in her 4th), all squaring a Pluto-Pluto-Moon (his) conjunction in her 1st house. The "empty leg" falls into Meryl's 7th house (empty but for the conjunction with Jupiter), amplifying the importance of this house and the role of Jupiter in regards to this relationship. Lotis White and Mir can give far better interpretations with respect to secondary houses and progressions. IP: Logged |

Bump for discussion on uranus in relationships Meryl and her husband have uranus aspects to personal planets natally
Uranus doesn't figure prominently in their synastry Uranus squares personal planets in composite but it is apart of a grand cross which is a binding and stabilizing configuration They have saturn conjunct the ic IP: Logged | |
