Absolutely.

Houses really do count. I didn't see their relevance until I realized that many "incompatible" couples seem to have a lot of house overlays or house similarities.

A Sun in Aquarius in the 4th may be drawn to Cancer types.

A Venus in 3rd may be drawn to Gemini-types.

Also consider Midpoints and conjunctions of the others personal planets to significant midpoints of the partner.

If someones Venus/Mars Midpoint= the partner's Sun, this can be quite attractive.

If the Moon/Venus midpoint = the partner's Mars,this is also quite nice.

I didn't quite see the chart between the two people that you spoke of(missed it I think). So I can't comment on it

But I took a closer look at the people that have stayed in my life the longest and there are many overlays between my house placements and theirs.
