I've read a few descriptions on this aspect in synastry. What does it mean for the conjunction between Mercury/Pluto? Deep conversations, crafty problem solving, obsessive thinking/talking? Good for platonic/business relationships or more intimate ones? IP: Logged |

I've had the double whammy... we both have Mercury conjunct Pluto, conjunct one another in Scorpio...Whether the relationship was business, love, friendship, doctor/patient--whatever--there would likely be a very deep, almost--surgically intimate(?!) understanding of one another.... there is a direct line into one another's deep urges, compulsions, etc., so that it's not even questionable how much of an understanding there is. It's so thorough you could almost miss it, except for the sharp contrast with other relationships in your life. This one has a je ne sais quoi... There can still be misunderstandings--but they'll always be tempered by this depth of gut-knowingness For us, with the double whammy, it's like... we are part of one another's minds in a way which quite exceeds the importance of normal associations with most people in the world. If we're with a group of people the other people just pale in comparison to our unspoken but deeply felt connection. There's a resonance which goes very deep and seems, for the time that we are together, to permeate every aspect of our mental processes. Pluto is powerful, magnetic, transformative, obsessive; Mercury takes on the energy of that which touches it, fills the spaces, bridges synapses, makes connections very quickly... when Pluto's slow, intense energy meets the planet which is our intermediary, our medium, everything we think becomes coloured by that intensity and depth.... This aspect can lend itself to a kind of psychic vampirism... or a profound connection... because there is a direct line into the other person's imaginal realm, we can affect one another with our thoughts, even from a great distance. That's what I've experienced with this aspect, but in our case the other person is a psychosocial vampire of sorts and quite powerful/psychic... and Plutonian in love relationships to boot... must always always look at the whole picture IP: Logged |

I think you kinda nailed it with your descriptions. It can be all of those things. But recall that a conjunction can be a hard aspect, and it's possible crafty = devious too.IP: Logged |

I think a practical or business type relationship with this aspect could be good as long as both people are fairly above board and responsible to one another, and they're committed to putting their heads together. In this case it could be really excellent because they'll delve deeply into issues and have a super powered magnifying glass to examine and dissect whatever they want to understand with incredible depth and precision. It is a research aspect par excellence. The amount of sway they hold over one another (particularly Pluto over Mercury) could mean that there might be a risk of dominating behaviour which overwhelms the other person's critical capacity rather than enhancing it...IP: Logged |

Thank you very much for such an detailed explanation of this aspect. The relationship is purely platonic and professional. We are researching ways to get monetary funds to a local food bank over the next few months and have found that the funds used beforehand were misused. Some of the other people in the group were upset but it seemed like they weren't as upset as I was. But like you said, we have done so much research together over the past couple of weeks and I just felt a link of some sort. Just an understanding that I really appreciated but can't quite convey. And when I looked, I saw this aspect. And it's almost exact, .06. And it's in Libra. So order and balance sort of plays a part. Thank you so much, also for explaining the conjunction. I never know when a conjunction will work out well or when it wont. I guess this time it semi to be very helpful. IP: Logged |

Oh I'm glad this was helpful--it's nice to hear your story too... yes, this aspect gives an appreciable, a somewhat subtle yet pervasive energy of excellent understanding, no matter what there is to be understood... these planets get along well, generally speaking, in a conjunction, overall--except when they don't of course ... All the best with allocating those funds responsibly! Good job IP: Logged |

yungang_grotto, that was amazing. I have this conjunction in Scorpio with someone, no double whammy though. Esp the 'It's so thorough you could almost miss it'.

Amazing explanation. We have Mercury square Pluto double whammy, and I can vouch for everything you wrote, with an extra dose of raunchiness for good measure, here's the synastry. There's Mars oppo Moon double whammy, too http://imgur.com/a/91Q5YeB
