Ya Know,It's common to say that only hard aspects are significant in Vertex synastry. But I've noticed that even sextiles and trines when in tight aspect to the Vertex Axis have an effect. I made had a life-changing conversation during a Vertex trine Moon transit. Not kidding. Don't be so quick to discount soft aspects. Good to know it's not just me that feels the Vertex to be 'electric'! I've got Uranus opposite Vertex in my chart so the that fact that it feels electric for me could be due to Uranus. Someone else mentioning this confirms it's not just the Uranus factor that does this. The Vertex is "the point located at the intersection of the Ecliptic (path of the Sun) and the Prime Vertical, a plane that divides the celestial sphere into front and back." I've noticed that the Vertex Axis does have a 5th house/Leo-ish type feel to it, where it makes things stand out as 'special', and allows certain things to be idealized or romantized in our minds. The Vertex being an intersection with 'the Sun's path', I think, explains the feelings of 'fate', and personal significance, that typically go with Vertex Axis transits and synastry. It gives that whole destiny fulfilled, finding our path vibe (be it happy or sad... The Vertex is magnetic but it's doesn't guarantee anything). IP: Logged |

Also, about outer planets. Yes, it dose matter when they TIGHTLY (within a degree) aspect the Vertex. Outer planet aspects matter in synastry and transits in general, and the Vertex-Axis is no exception to this rule. Just like we'd feel Pluto and Uranus in aspect to a personal planet, we'd feel it in aspect to our Vertex (which moves fast). It's especially a good idea to look at what houses are ruled by Uranus and Pluto in the natal chart to see which areas of life are being influenced. The Vertex is a non-physical Axis just like the Mc/Ic, the Dsc/Asc, and the nodes. We'd certainly pay attention to Pluto conjunct the Asc, so why not pay attention to Pluto on the Vertex Axis? Of course it has an effect! IP: Logged |

The Electrical impulses were so strong during the Eclipse phase that I would have to take a bath to get warm, I was literally shivering from the base of my spine.I do have Mars Conjunct mine Natally. A Stellium was involved in the Eclipse. I do have to thank you, LotisWhite, for the insights on this Thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/211748.html I found them to be very true in my case. IP: Logged |

Reactivating this thread as I can’t seem to find answers about vertex synastry. Am new to this forum but have been a long time lurker...I looked at a chart for a friend and someone she had a complicated relationship with. That relationship is over with sadness for both and I think the vertex activation in both is the reason they find it hard to stay away and the strong feelings involved. There is 8 house emphasis on his side and 7th house emphasis on hers and pluto&Saturn contact to Venus as well. They were born 4 years apart on other sides of the world and have a double whammy conjunction of vertex to Juno both in Aries. The orbs are tight. Hers falls on her descendant and 7th house (his 5th) and his in the 6th house (her 7th). In addition just to make it more intense for her, his sun and mercury also tightly conjuncts her vertex. I’m wondering what kind of interpretation can be drawn from these vertex aspects? She definitely wanted a relationship that ended in marriage and was clear right from the start while he was evasive and uncommitted in this area. I saw the vertex activity and although I was neutral about the overall potential, almost gave her the reasons to consider it. I figured that it was her life and her free will to do what she wanted. He persued her strongly which made it difficult for her to resist. I feel a bit bad as it was a relationship kept secret that was disapproved of. Do people here have an opinion on whether the vertex is something that should be experienced if activated? IP: Logged |
