http://astrowin.org/scripts/prog_synastry_chart.php

As most here will remember, there's done extensive research into Venus progressions and it is clear now that during the start of a relationship we often - if not always - find a Sun-Venus or Venus-Venus or Venus-Mars trine, conjunction or opposition. The Square between those pairs of planets is famous for driving people apart.
Once those goodies are gone (left the window of effectiveness in the graphs) and no other goodies replacing them we expect the end of a relationship.

In the program linked here we also find an option to calculate the progressed declinations. No research done with those but it might be significant so check it out as well. Breaking new ground.

Ofcourse not only the "start of" a relationship is interesting but also the realm of friendship or simply "being smitten with...?" as with the latter I found those prog goodies (often exact) on this board countless times without exception.

Check it out and share!

What a great tool!

I just got married and we have the infamous sun/Venus trine applying 2 degrees. I thought commitment started when it was exact?
It will be interesting to see the power of declinations though. Really interesting. We have one replacing the trine when it goes out of orb. I think it’s the contraparallel.
Interestingly with my ex, we broke up when we came up to a sun/Venus conjunction!

I don't have anything like that going on with someone right now, but when we first met, his progressed Venus was conjunct my Sun, and his progressed Sun was conjunct my Moon/Venus/SN. We initially cut contact after his progressed Sun passed my vertex. I can't remember if any of my progressions matched to his chart.

Last year, when we reconnected, our progressed composite was interesting.

Can you give some details about “interesting composite”? Did it get some new NN or Mats aspects when reconnection happened?

It is yes! I hope everyone will keep adding their findings here...

Wow married, congrats. The window of effectiveness is seen in the graphs and this covers the entire space under the horizontal green line which starts at about 2 deg applying and ends at the same deg separating. Commitment can start any time within that field. You both also met in that trine timeframe?

Yes I am also very curious about those. What I heard until now (by far not enough so it needs time) both (contra-)+ parallel might be pretty potent as well ..

Wow! That's the last we would expect

The progressed composite Sun, was conjunct the SN, just past it actually. Since the Sun and Venus are conjunct within a few degrees, I'm surprised that nothing happened when the Venus had progressed to the SN.

Composite Mars was also conjunct my natal Moon/Venus/SN, and square my own Mars. I don't like that in typical synastry, at all, but it was past my Moon. Composite Mercury was also conjunct his Mars/Saturn, and square the progressed C Jupiter exactly, which might be what spurred him on to contact me.

It was interesting to me, because when we first met, his progressed Sun was conjunct the same small stellium I have in Gemini - now the composite Mars is there. I wonder if we will cut contact again, after Mars moves on. When we stopped speaking before, the progressed Sun and Venus were exiting that same stellium. The progressed composites all look a lot nicer than the starting one, which is loaded with Venus/Mercury/Sun/Mars opposed Uranus, all from the 8th house.

Thank you!

We actually met when we had a sun/Venus trine DW. Then 10 years later we reconnected. This time romantically when another sun/Venus trine was 4/5 degrees applying. And now married BUT it won’t be exact for another couple of years I think. We do have some instability with our RS so I wonder if it will become more stable at that point.

What do you think about the Venus/mars trines/conjunctions/opp/declinations?
We have a mars/Venus contra parallels starting in 2025 and continuing until 2053! By then we’ll be well into old age lol and possibly deceased!

Can you share the declinations examples you know of? Very curious.

Also what about the 7th ruler being activated by the others sun/Venus?

And f there’s a sun/Venus square happening at the same time as a sun/Venus trine etc which would override?

When the aspect meets with the window of effectiveness is that when the connection is the strongest?

For example 2019 would have been the best time for these two to meet even though the conjunction is closer in 2022.

So there was a true start (so to speak) 10 years later. Was your progressed Moon conjunct his natal Asc or natal Sun? Or maybe his' to your natal Sun or Asc? Or did this happen when you married?

Was it only the Sun/Venus trine applying by 4-5 deg, so nothing else within the window of effectiveness at those starting blocks?

What is RS? aagh.. RelationShip!

Venus-Mars is more sexual. In the big Westran research those VM longitude (trine-conj-opp) aspects became significant only AFTER removing all the Sun-Venus aspects. So SV is def the most potent overall in there. But his research ofcourse only included the serious relationships. VM is less inclined to marry and so to just keep it with the physicality me thinks.

Yes, that is a rare one, almost 30 years! Keep us updated here

The declinations are really an unexplored area for me as well. But knowing someone - not the least - who swears by it and picking up some convincing stories here and there... I gotta go with it I think.

That's the big question and would be interesting to follow..

Not into rulers and all that.

omg, this is really interesting!!

Person i'm dating right now: pVe pMA contra-paralell exact in month of our first date. A bunch of pVe and pMa things with pVe-pVe quincunxes untill 2023. But no Sun-Venus untill 2029.

There is no best time. Although yeah we might think that it's better to meet earlier on in the window to enjoy the most time together. But Meghan and Harry got together during a separating Sun-Venus conjunction but still in the window of effectiveness.

You might say that the peak/bottom is the strongest but well... it might just be a great period of time overall. A period in which you notice each other.

I can't find anything outstanding in our progressions. Transiting Uranus was conjunct his progressed Venus, when he contacted me last year. That's all that I can see. Now my progressed Moon is at 0*Aquarius, square his Sun/Moon, and my Uranus/ascendant, but it was in Capricorn last year. His progressed Moon was opposed his Mars/Saturn and trine my descedant, sextile my Mars. I don't know what's going on re: contraparallels, and I probably won't check unless something more happens. We're only talking right now. He wanted more, but there are issues, and I think if it was going to happen, it would have happened with the stronger progressions, when we first met. There was strong interest on both sides, once we started really getting to know each other, but then stuff happened.

My own progressed Venus will square my Ceres/Chiron/Sun soon. It's within two/three degrees.

When my progressed Sun was conjunct my own Moon/Venus/SN, nothing happened for me. My sister got married.

My progressed Mars is semi-sextile his progressed Venus. His progressed Mars will trine my Moon/Venus, it's two/three degrees away from each. So there is something.

That’s an interesting tool. It’s a pity, they don’t consider any moon or NN aspects as opportunities.

Thank you. From my experience, mars contacts are important in progression. There’re just feelings with no actions without them.

I think my pMoon was in libra (his nSun). His may have been conjunct m pASC (opposite my nSun). I’m trying to remember th exact month I met him but it’s a little hazy lol.
As well as the 4/5 degree sun/Venus trine, his pMoon was conjunct my nDSC. Not sure it’s that significant. In the next little while his pMoon will move into Gemini (my nSun) and mine will move to Aries (opposite his nSun).

Ok Em, there's some balance there I see.
pMoon conj nSun is what we VERY often see during the start of a relationship OR during marriage. But it might also mean the end of a relationship.
So you soon get a repetition with his pMoon to your nSun and yours to his nSun. Keep me updated if something significant happens at that time.

pMoon is a fast one so I allow much wider orbs then.

I didn't find a hit to the other's natal descendant telling nor do I use the progressed Asc as in reality the prog angles should move an entire cycle in a year. The true prog angles are called "quotidian angles".

I’ll let you know what happens for sure! Hopefully not the end because it happens before the peak of our trine. Which would be a stronger commitment ?

Our pMoons conjunct the others nSun : Aug 2021
His pSun trine my nVenus : Jan 2023
Venus/mars parallels/cp : start 2025 continuing for many years.
nSun/pVenus conjunction : 2045

We would expect the pMoon-nSun conjunction to generate an exit only A) when a progressed square takes it over OR b) there's simply nothing left, means: all the aspects that both of you kept together have faded without even a square to dream on about each other.

But there's another thing I should mention now as I consider it extremely important as well and we should also take that into our research. That's the Moon phases during start and endings. When pMoon hits a 4th harmonic aspect to your nSun or pSun (not synastry wise) it signifies ANY big change in life so often the start and the end of a relationship. And that is all we should absorb next to the things already discussed on this thread!
