How about the squares between Sun/Mercury and Pluto? How do you see that manifesting in our relationship?

In a cold reading, I use a maximum orb of 4 degrees - individually, both of these squares would be too wide, but the square to the Sun/Mercury mid-point is valid (and strong).

Moreover, in the context of the chart as a whole, I think this square = effort (rather than difficulty).

So, I'd interpret this as the two of you striving together to transform the way you express ideas/views/thoughts. However, in the context of mentoring others, it could be a transformation of the expressed views themselves.

An example might be the transformation of your views upon the extent and nature of the help it is appropriate to give to friends-in-need.
