I just thought of this, and I think it would be interesting. Is there a relationship you had with someone, could be any type of relationship, where that person's words hurt you a lot? Or destroyed your pride and your ego?

What synastry aspects did you two have, and what do you think was the aspect that caused their words to sting so much to you?

I think I could say I have a lot of this energy with my long term FWB. Some of the aspects I think that cause that is our HEAVY Saturn aspects!!

His moon is conjunct my Saturn AND Asc in my first house. And I have an aqua moon Saturn Cap Saturn in my first house natally do ALOT coming on in my 1H!!

AND my moon is also in his 8H so I’m extremely emotionally raw with him and I feel his Cap Moon can be very cold & dismissive with me. His words can be extremely condescending and patronizing. He makes me feel like an emotional toddler throwing a tantrum when really he’s just a cold emotionally immature avoidant!

We also have sun square Pluto and sun opp Pluto so I’m sure that plays a part as well! Oh and not to mention his Leo sun opp my Aqua moon.

So yea in summary ALL OF THE ABOVE 😂😂 though I feel The Saturn aspects are the main culprit!

I believe any combination of aspects can be ego-destroying.. just in different ways/ areas of life.

Saturn - Authority conflicts. Insecurities. Making someone feel inferior. Imposter syndrome.

Venus - Insecurities. Outcast in social circles..

Mercury - Ridiculing someone's communication style/ thoughts.

Depending on someone's maturity level and self-awareness, anything can be ego-destroying. I would maybe look towards the 2nd house to see what the native values and then go from there? 2H 4H 8H 10H 12H? Whatever touches the deepest parts of us or the most exposed (on the opposite end) parts, tend to affect our egos the most imo/ ime.

If it’s specifically your ego, that’s represented by your Sun. That’s your identity, the way you shine, your pride. If someone’s Pluto, Saturn or Mars would harshly aspect your Sun, an opposition but more so a square, that would feel like they’re trying to take you down. Pluto would be about control and power play, Saturn would feel limiting and critical, Mars would be competition or conflict.

If it’s specifically about words hitting you in a sensitive spot than Mercury, the 3rd house or its ruler could be at play in combination with the 8th house. The 8th house contains our secrets, our past traumas, the things we actively choose to repress or have forgotten. There are usually plenty of emotional triggers in our 8th house. So if this person has their Mercury in your 8th house, or square your Pluto, or in some kind of tension aspect with the planet that rules the sign of the 8th house cusp, this could either help you with psychological growth or be very painful, or both.

There are other options, but this would be the first things I would check. Look at how someone is impacting your Sun and 8th house (and possibly your Pluto).

In addition, if someone has challenging aspects in their natal charts that mimic your own, they are a mirror to you and that can be very painful. You are triggered in your own insecurities. Funny enough, these are also usually the people you’re attracted to or vice versa. They can teach you something very important about yourself.

My ex and I both have a Mars and Saturn conjunction, we both struggle with a healthy expression of anger. It’s connected to our childhood. I had my conjunction in his 12th house and conjunct his Moon, he had his conjunction in my 8th house and conjunct my Venus. We decided to get divorced when Pluto was transit my conjunction and Uranus was transit his conjunction. It was not ego destroying or anything. Just a very painful lesson.

For me, relationships where Neptune played a role. Neptune is the great dissolver or should I say, a great solvent. The ego wants to make everything about me me me. Neptune dissolves that and you find yourself willing to sacrifice everything for that person.

- I knew someone whose Neptune was conjunct my Saturn. That person literally took me apart for years...

- I had someone whose Neptune was trine my Venus and Moon. Love them to this day! Will love them forever!

- Someone else had Venus square my Neptune, I overidealized them for years. Would have done anything for them!
