I found this site during the late summer, and started to make a list ~ when I finish it, I'll calculate my time for starting and finishing, and get started. (I'm giving myself thirty more days to finish my list).~~~~~ Creating your own 1001 Day Project The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part). Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities. Some common goal setting tips: 1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it. 2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress. 3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy. 4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment. 5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking. Calculating the End Date You can easily find out when your project will end by using this handy tool at timeanddate.com. http://triplux.com/1001/otherlists.asp Angela IP: Logged |

Wow! Neat. Thanks teasel. ...though I'm not good at achieving goals, following rules or staying focused. The failure one I can do. Let us know how you do. IP: Logged |

I would love to do something like this! Just making up the list would be a challange. What's on yours, teaselbaby? IP: Logged |

Congrats 26!What's the new job? I change jobs like underwear too! I always thought it was a flaw, but now realize it's adaptability! And the ability to really be whatever you want. I tend to go for it if I am offered a job I'm not really qualitified for, but I am able to adapt to almost anything. IP: Logged |

haha, ang! Yep. Hi Philly, I'm now working in a warehouse, picking orders for a large office supply distributor. It's all men, then myself and one other girl. It's physical work, on my feet all day, very fastpaced - climbing shelves, lots of lifting, bending. But it pays pretty good and I'm tough. And I am absolutely thrilled that I dont have to waitress anymore. I dont have to talk to anyone, or have people up my @ss all the time now. Yay. I just go to work, do my job and leave. Have the weekends off and a STEADY paycheck (finally). It's just the kind of job I was looking for (...well, errmm, sort of. LOL), so I'm happy. Yes, I'm adaptable too. Have worked a wide variety of odd jobs (jupiter in 6th). One day, I'll do something I love and enjoy. And how are you my friend? IP: Logged |
