We could each answer this in our own different ways, but here is my answer (feel free to share your own with us):People that have never read Star Signs or Gooberz (at least one of the two) may think that we are deifying Linda. Actually, we don't think that way about Linda. Linda was not some highly Enlightened GURU for us. She was very much human, and we Love her for all her faults and flaws. She was more confused, depressed, and blue than many of us ever could be. But somehow, someway, in some magickal fashion, Linda opened up doors for us. She did this through her writing. Linda took exclusive knowledge that had been historically kept from the masses and put it in words we could all understand. She removed all the ritualistic boundaries that prevented Enlightenment for the common man and woman and laid all the secrets out on the buffet table for the hungry masses, the poor, the destitute, and the nonroyalty to feast upon. Like the other great Teachers of herstory, Linda removed the chains of exclusivity to Enlightenment by explaining the closely-hidden secrets in very simple language. By doing so, all who read Linda's last two books (and are ready) become close to her through her writing. We are, in essence, converted to Members of her close family. While alive, Linda did not understand the magick of her words or how much we Loved her. She felt all alone and so misunderstood. We do understand, Linda. You were never alone. You have an extended family of millions! THAT is what I think is so special about Linda. Through reading her books, we get to become close to her--so close that Linda bops us on the head at times, comes to us in our dreams, and transforms us continually through new understanding acquired each time we re-read what she has written. Many of us only chose a Path to Enlightenment after reading Linda's writings. She made it oh so simple for Us. The conversion was unbelievably quick and painless! She taught us to Trust. She gave us Faith. She brought us Love. We will keep her magick alive forever! ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

Great thread Randall! I will wrap up how I feel in a nutshell: I feel so close to Linda's writings because of all that you said Randall, but in addition, I love her and her writing because I can see myself in her. I think many of you will agree that when you read her books, there is an element of yourself that she was able to capture, and utilized it in a wonderful way of communicating with us all. She was able to talk about things she knew on some level we all share as brothers and sisters on this planet, and help us look within ourselves and recognize our own true uniqueness, whether through astrology, numerology, or poetry...or just her philosophy. She wasn't greedy with her knowledge, and wrote what she wrote for truly unselfish reasons. When I read Linda's writings, especially the book Gooberz, I almost feel as if she's having a conversation with the uni-verse, asking questions for us...the big "WHY" questions that we all ask, and through her questioning herself and all around her, it has helped us all find some truths that were hidden from us before. I love her very dearly, and I always will. IP: Logged |

I agree with both of you and I have the impressian that her books comes to you when you need them the most... and they or her-self stays always with you, it seems there is a sort of connection that will ever last... And no she was not a guru , she was very human and fragile, like we all are, but her talents, writings , thoughts touched my heart and soul, for ever IP: Logged |

Hello, CHRIS..most WELCOME.. You are right about the books appearing just when you are ready. Not to mention they have a strange way of disappearing too. Once you lend then, go ahead and say 'GOOD BYE' as that is that...then go on a buy another copy...I think Linda's Spirit wants it that way as her Knowledge is to be shared not horded. Yes, she does WAKE people up with her down-to-earth way of teaching. And her 'humanity' makes it more personal... Everything everyone said is LIKE IT IS...and for that we humbly say THANK YOU LINDA...if not for your LIGHT, how many of us would still be stumbling around in the dark... ------------------

Funny how Linda used to lend books and never get them back, and now her books are done that way. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

Linda's early books created lots of astrologers from people who would otherwise have not been interested in astrology (including our very own beloved Lyndel) and turned astrology into mainstream for the first time. She was truly the Queen of the New Age! ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

She is the only writer I've ever felt like I KNEW after I read Star Signs. I felt like I could go knock on her door and sit down and have a cup of coffee and a great conversation. I was not in awe of her but I just loved her. She was the best friend I never knew.I will never EVER forget Linda!! IP: Logged |

Oh yes, but not all the way through at one time. I'm afraid I tend to skip around and I know it's to my detriment but I don't have the concentration power I used to have. What I love about Goooberz is, if I'm thinking about something and I hold that book in my hands, then open it where it wants to be opened, I usually find my answer. That's pretty amazing to me but there's no need to deny it because it's true. You know another thing is, when I read Star Signs the first time, there were a number of things that I "knew" as soon as I read them, like I had just "forgotten" them. But some of the stuff she talked about did not feel familiar and was frankly, for me at least "out there". But the longer I live the more I "see" Linda's ideas and theories proven out and I just feel thrilled when that happens!! I just can't get over the courage it took to write her books. I am just sooo glad that her fans are sooo loyal and we have a place to be together and I just KNOW she feels the love we all have for her. I'm hoping that will "entice" her to come back to us really really soon!! IP: Logged |

I have yet to find another writer with that talent. ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

If there was no Linda, I would never have got interested in Astrology. I was drawn to the magical world of Astrology only through her. I never fully agree with all she says, nevertheless I am impressed and admire the spirit of her writings. Nobody else could be so lovely, so hopeful and so optimistic about Life and Love. Her faith in the Victory of Venus was one thing that really touched my heart. She is really Magic.------------------ M Rajendran IP: Logged |

Linda is so special to me for all of the reasons already stated here but the most important one for me personally is that she led me here, to all of you wonderful people who have helped me in so many ways that I would wear out my fingers if I posted them all.Moat importantly though is the healing energy that I have felt which has enabled me to finally say goodbye to those I have loved and lost. Bless you all. Raj: Welcome, itis always nice to meet new friends. I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty of answering Randalls question but I know that he has as great a desire for knowledge as my own and if he is anything like me in his quest for knowledge, then he hates to wait. O f course I don't know as much about your city as you do but I do know that it is in one of the most wondrous countries on Earth, India. ------------------ I have loved,I love,I will love. Thanks, Grey! It's nice to see some of our MANY Members from India posting now. Did you notice the typo in your Post, where you put "moat" instead of most? Wonder if that is secret star sign? A moat is the deep, wide ditch surrounding a castle or house (usually filled with water). What could this mean? ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

I hadn't noticed the typo and I usually proofread my posts both before and after submitting them, but my eyes must have been scaled over. I have given some thought to the possibility of being a star sign and I think I know what it means, I have finally built a drawbridge over the moat that I dug when my wife and daughter were killed, it is a sign that I truly have put them to rest and am ready to let someone into my life. Love to all.------------------ I have loved,I love,I will love. Grey IP: Logged |

Let down the drawbridge and leave your castle, my friend. The sun is kissing you, the air is fresh, and the thunderstorm has passed (past). ------------------ "The ancestor to every action is a thought." EMERSON IP: Logged |

Hi Randall, Grey, Yivy, Lily! Thank you for your warm welcome! Actually the first Linda's book I read was Love Signs. Prior to that I didn't think of Astrology as a very special thing. It was just another kind of forecasting future. When I started reading Love Signs, I was magnetically attracted to Linda and her books. I studied the book for a long time, then I bought Sun Signs and subsequently Star Signs. I realized from Linda a whole new way of looking at life. As Linda herself used to say, it created Nuclear chain reactions in my mind, that made me very different and really evolved me. It gave me new energy and hope in life. Not many people here know of Linda, they all follow Vedic Astrology, but I have unshaken belief in Linda's Astrology. I don't know why! May be it was all pre-ordained!------------------ M Rajendran IP: Logged |
