Randall....if you decide to pursue this story I may have some information and a list of people that knew Linda personally during her life in Cripple Creek. I lived in Cripple Creek from March 1993 until August 1995 and have some fantastic love letters and poems written to Linda back in 1970, 1971, and 1972 as well as some personal experiences. I had the pleasure of learning first hand information about Linda's life from people that associated with her on a regular basis until Linda decided to go into semi-seclusion in the home that she built up on the hill in Cripple Creek. Very eccentric and interesting woman. Linda died shortly after I moved from the area in 1995. I hated to leave, but had to go....it was in my stars although I had the choice to ignore it. I have letters, books, and memories to keep me in "contact" with Linda.Mary ------------------ Mary IP: Logged |

I think you are the sign I was looking for. I may also be making a journey to Cripple Creek soon to begin the process. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I think it is a great idea, and don't ever forget that if you get stuck on something, there are many in here and out else where who would be more than happy to offer advice, opinions, do research, and the like. Especially those of us Gemini who thrive on the challenge that knowledge for its own sake presents. Though If it were me I would start by trying to contact those who were close to her in the end, for they have a wealth of information that may or may be available elsewhere.IP: Logged |

Hey Randall...Cripple Creek is a really cool little town. I went a couple of times in 1986, so it may have changed a bit. One suggestion - don't go in January or February. VERY cold. I now live many hundreds of miles north of there, but Cripple Creek was colder than it ever gets here. I don't know if it is still there, but there used to be a great tunnel that you went through to get to the town. I also met someone from there who knew Robert Brewer pretty well. His name escapes me right now, but I'll try to remember.IP: Logged |

I don't like the cold. How cold is it in Summer? ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Its not too bad, but its no Georgia peach. The air is really dry. When I first went to Colorado, I had been living in south Texas for a while and Southern California before that. I thought it was cold at night even in the summer. Then I went back for a visit after living in Canada for a few years and discovered it is actually not cold in Colorado in July. Its all perception, I guess. But when I went to Cripple Creek in the winter, everything in town was frozen. Even the restrooms at the gas station and cafe were out of order because they were frozen. Darlin'...that's too cold. So go in July and take a jacket. In September it gets pretty cool at night, but when the aspen start to turn gold with their silvery white trunks...wow...you'll think you're in Lothlorien. IP: Logged |

I keep checking this thread to see if this book is nearer to fruition because I so hope it is. The fact that it has already had so much input from those that love (and sometimes disagree) with Linda means somebody needs to write it. It will be written from the heart with no ulterior motive than to be true to Linda. In England we have had so many books written about Princess Diana by those that profess to know and love her, that it is easy to become disillusioned with so called friends who make the money at the expense of so much else. I'll check back in a while to see how things go. I know when it gets written (and it will) it will be the book that strives to do Linda the utmost justice and preserve the truth, warts and all. Happy Thanksgiving (I think I'm a little off target here date wise but I don't get here often so forgive me). K IP: Logged |

Not sure if this is significant. But when reading the title:Randall's Book on Linda Goodman Something felt right. There were chills that ran down my back, the thrill ride kind. The sort that get your fingers moving and start you posting and typing and telling someone to GO FOR IT! Do this, name the book Randall's Book on Linda Goodman! The typing that's going on right now is coming not from the mind, but from the heart. Do this Randall..there are other things that will come your way as you start the task in earnest. More pieces will fall into place than you could have ever known about before you started. More of Linda's secrets will be unearthed in the process of this book than in all of the time that this board has been around. Of this, you can be sure. Good luck and God bless you Randall..soulfire sorceror.. IP: Logged |

Randall, first of all - I love your idea about the book. Though I haven't been on this site for a long time, through your posts I've got a feeling that you are an extremely kind-hearted person with a sincere look of love for everything. I didn't have enough patience to go through the WHOLE thread... I just wanted to make a suggestion for the title: Linda Goodman: Untold story of her life It gives you vibration of 45, which equals to 27, so much desired by you. Good Luck

I got a great buzz when I read your intentions to write a book about Linda Goodman. Have you started it yet Randall?

Hey Randall...next time you find a brick wall, lean a trellis up next to it and plant some sweet peas. You will know when the time is right and you have a built-in fan base for your publication. I'm sending some of my writer fairies to visit yoursElf, so don't panic if you feel verbosity encroaching. IP: Logged |

Hi Randall.....are you still planning a trip to Cripple Creek? It hasnt been that long since I lived in Colorado Springs, so I feel moved to give you some brief advice...go in the summer, not just for the weather but safer roads. And give yourself plenty of time to be there- unless you live at a high altitude right now. Some people get sick and worn out the first few days living that high up. You probably knew this already, so forgive me if this is redundant. IP: Logged |
