This is the private investigator string. I was wrong. It wasn't Sikes. It was Richard (Sikes' assistant). The whole thing is worth reading, but you can find his Post on Page 5.

Not sure about Joga and Ghost. People tend to come and go with this site. We touch many Lives--usually when they need us most.

It's on Page 5. It wasn't Sikes. It was Sikes' assistant (Richard).

Don't have his number!

By the way, the (now retired) Chief of Police for Cripple Creek when Linda was in her heyday is a registered Member. He e-mailed me awhile back and said he had a lot of stories to share, but then I never heard back. Maybe he will speak up now, if he's out there lurking in Lindaland.

I'm new here, and personally would love to read a comprehensive book about Linda's life.

She was quite forthcoming about some aspects of her life through her books, and cryptic about others. In any event, she is a fascinating and unique woman who deserves to be immortalized through a loving biography, even if unauthorized. Perhaps even better that it be unauthorized, as it will hopefully be reverent, but also objective.

I hope you get started soon! I'm eager to read it!

i have to admit that i havent read through this whole thread yet, i am on 56k and have to get offline in a second to use the phone, but i would LOVE a book such as this.

i personally think it should be balanced, i dont like reading bios that are sickening sweet and only canonize a person. linda is so great in and of herself that it doesnt need to be written in a way that idolizes her, i want to know the real linda, the human linda (which is still far better than most humans). sometimes that means there might be failings that come up. those only endear me to her all the more.

i just finally read through this whole thread... and i have an interesting libra compromise.

write the book. dont approach anyone unless they have freely come here offering to contribute.

put it on this site, for the enjoyment and enlightenment of all who come here. if you feel that here is where it should remain, then so it shall be. if you feel that it should be put into hard copy, then you have two options. you could self publish, with desktop publishing. -or-

if you get a 'sign' at that point, then by all means consider additional research and interviews. look into a mass market publisher at that point.

if it doesnt happen to go mass market, no harm no foul.

most of the information is from here anyway, correct? (aside from interviewing people like her family etc). it would be very nice to have it all in one place, in a chronological essay. its really frustrating looking at a bunch of different threads, as it isnt in order, and a flowing narrative would be so much better... and would give us a comprehensive picture of the facts of linda in context and probably written with sensitivity, if it is to be written by randall.

if it is facts etc that have already been shared here, i dont feel there is a breach of confidence involved. sometimes things happen like this. there are already a couple of people who have offered to share whatever information they have, and it seems to me that they arent soliciting payment for it, which leads me to believe that their intentions are honorable.

if they were to share anecdotes or facts, you would probably find that the book would grow from that, and just by the nature of the craft, more people would come out of the woodwork once it was known that a book was being written (word of mouth etc, plus the knowledge that some people have told their experiences often gives others the confidence to do the same). i cant explain it, its just magic. if it doesnt pull together like that, then maybe that would be the sign not to release it in mass market. that i think is what would be your answer, of whether its lindas will and serves a purpose she espouses.

at the very least we would have a comprehensive narrative of facts that are already known to those at this forum. it would be a remarkable help to noobs such as me.

heck i didnt know who robert was till just now. i dont know much about him but id like to know how he tied into her life, even if you used a psudonym for him. heck i dont care what the fellows real name is. im just interested in how his life tied in with hers. i am interested in this facet of her life simply to understand and apply it to my own. i want to know if i have a twin soul, how to find them, what to do when i find them, i am a libra, i want to know EVERYTHING about love and mate.

i really honestly dont think that this would have mortified linda. i mean why would it? im sure she knew that people were very interested in her life, there is no WAY she wouldnt have known that. she did not choose to make herself available in life because she had reasons, probably a large portion of those reasons had to do with her protecting herself. she seemed like a very vulnerable person to me. i can relate to that, and i have as little as possible contact with people so i dont get hurt. when i am dead, i could give a rats ass, and if the knowledge of my life story was able to help other people, well who wouldnt be agreeable to that? especially one such as linda, who truly wanted the best for people. you would do no dishonor to her to give a cohesive picture of her life.

also i would like to note that even if you do not publish photographs of *her*, which i understand might be morally questionable, why can we not see pictures of things like cripple creek, parkersburg, the house she grew up in (if it still stands) etc? those harm no one. i will probably never get to see these places and i am curious to know what they look like, i dont think there is a darn thing wrong with that.

its funny because as i write this there is a PARADE going on outside my window! i hear the band playing their march, its a little surreal. i have shivers right now... didnt linda love marches? whew ok moving on... (and if anyone doubts me, look at the website for the newspaper for langley british columbia canada, i am sure they will cover it in depth in the next issue)

wow ok that was weird... i think i should end this now... i feel very overcome all of a sudden.

thank you for reading what i have to say.

also i dont mean to be gratuitous about this... but i also thought that an apt title could be 'the lion and the lamb' with 'an unauthorized biography of linda goodman' as a subheading... because those two symbols very much describe her life, her self, and the things that happened to her in her life. she was very much a strong lion type of person yet she had so much sweet gentle lamb in her... and her life seemed to be like that too. full of gentle moments such as the time she spent in cripple creek, and the rocky times with all the chaos and loss that was going on in her life. i just think a lion and a lamb is a very polarized image, and that is what lindas life seemed to have as a recurrent theme.

just my gratuitous 2 cents heh.

also i wanted to point out that i had no idea there was to be a parade on my street today, this whole thing was just weird to me. i have never seen a parade here or knew there was such a thing they did here and ive been living in this town on and off for 6 years. that experience of writing that post is still troubling me, i mean i have weird stuff happen all the time, but never as weird as that. heh coincidence. its been a couple of hours now and its still on my mind.

*sigh* could someone just tell me it was a wierd coincidence and i am being ridiculous thinking about its meaning so i can go on with my life?

Great idea about the Lion and Lamb (methinks Linda had a Leo Rising).

hi randall

i lost my post because i used to many smilies *sigh*

anyway thank you for your comments about the title i suggested. i just really think it describes linda to a 't'. she was very much a 'lion and a lamb' and she is actually gemini rising! i found her birth info on the conscious evolution site, there is a minibio of her written by someone who posts here (im sorry i dont remember the name, ack! i think it was maria? my apologies ) anyway in the article someone had rectified her chart to arrive at the birthdate of 9 april 1925 8:23 am morgantown wv. she did have a couple of planets in leo, one of which was the node, some people dont think much of nodes but i personally think they say a lot about a chart.

no wonder i am so attracted to linda, i am libra with sag rising and aries moon, and she was an aries with gemini rising and libra moon! opposites attract

i wonder if she would have liked me. i think so... i think her and i would have gotten along great.

her life was full of duality, she had the peace of cripple creek, amidst the powerful forces of opposition in her life... i just had a flash of insight when i thought of that title and it just seemed to fit her and her life so well.

thank you for this site and for your kindness to me

Did Linda have a Leo Moon or was it Rising?

hi randall

thank you for your kind words, why ah do declayah, ah ahm blushang!

her sun was aries, as we all know.
her moon was libra,
her rising gemini,
mercury in taurus,
venus in aries (sounds very true from what ive gleaned),
mars in gemini,
jupiter in capricorn,
saturn in scorpio,
uranus in pisces,
neptune in leo,
pluto in cancer,
node in leo,
chiron in aries,
and her part of fortune was in sagittarius.

chiron is the 'wounded healer', i dont know if you know his significance in a chart, if not please ask me if you are interested because lindas placing was quite interesting considering what she did with her life. like me, she had many aspects to chiron. she had 8, which was more than any other planet, and the same is true for me, down to the number, i also have 8 aspects, and no other planet in my chart has more.

im finding it interesting looking at her chart. a lot of it has similarities with mine, and i found it funny that her sun, moon, and rising were the polar opposite to mine. i havent looked at the other planets yet, and im going to do a composite and synastry just for fun.
