I've been fortunate enough to have met Linda (Mary Alice Kemery) three times.

The first time I met her was at the Whole Life Expo in L.A. May 14, 1988. She was a celebrated speaker. The room was standing-room only and she talked about her book “Love Signs”.

My second meeting was at her home in Cripple Creek (not Tesla's house on Carr Ave., but the one after that). It was August 12, 1989 and I had already read “Star Signs”. My 12 yr. old son and I took a vacation to Colorado just so we could go to Cripple Creek to see Tesla's old house and, hopefully, meet Linda. We even had lunch at the Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor where “Maggie” the ghost lived (which Linda wrote about in “Star Signs”). I asked a shop owner if he knew where Linda Goodman lived, and surprisingly, he said “yes” and told me how to get there. My son and I were going through the Railroad Museum that afternoon and were on the top floor looking out the window and down the main street of the town when it started lightning and thundering. I tried to imagine what it was like when Tesla was there performing his electrical experiments in storms such as the one we were witnessing. We drove the winding road to Linda’s house in the pouring rain. When we got there, I left my son in the car and hurried to the door clutching my “Star Signs” book. A young man answered the door. I asked if I could meet Linda for just a few minutes and get my book autographed. He said that, normally, that would be O.K., but today she was extremely busy trying to make the deadline of her new book, “Gooberz” and that she would sign my book, but I wouldn’t be able to talk with her. He left me standing on the porch in the rain for about ten minutes. When he returned, Linda was with him. She handed me my autographed book and apologized for not inviting me in for a chat. She said she was months past her deadline and tomorrow she would be finished, so there was no time to be sociable. I was thrilled that she even came to the door!

The third (and last) time I saw her was February 9, 1990 at the Phoenix Pyre Book Store in Encinitas, CA for the book-signing of “Gooberz”. It was at night and the book store was packed. She was about an hour late and I remember standing in line for at least half an hour after that waiting for my turn. She asked each person what their sign was before she signed their book. She signed them all the same (on a card, actually, not the book itself), For (whomever) Love and Magic! Linda Goodman. When I told her I was a fellow Aries, her eyes lit up and she said “Ram Power”. My card said to Diane, the Ram, Love and Magic! Linda Goodman, the Ram. Ram Power! Then she corrected several typos in the book and initialed them. I told her about meeting her in Cripple Creek. She smiled, and I remember she looked so small sitting at that table. She was wearing red, and her hair was done like she might have worn it when she was a school girl and she had a ribbon in it. I know she had to be in her fifties then, and I thought it odd she would wear her hair that way. But that was Linda; she had such a childlike quality. Like the time in Cripple Creek, the experience seemed surreal to me because she was so legendary and I had read her books “Sun Signs” and “Love Signs” . She was a rare soul and "Gooberz" was a priceless gift to us all...

I see Brian Andersen has posted information on this site (Abraham Lincoln, Howard Hughes, Marilyn Monroe). The first night I met Brian was at the Phoenix Pyre. He was there to meet Linda, also. They became instant good friends. Brian could give you lots of “insider” information about Linda because they were such good friends. “Hi”, Brian.

Wow Ariesgirl92110. What great Linda stories! Welcome to Lindaland.

I went to Cripple Creek, too. Linda lived there at the time, but I didn't know it. I went to the Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor as well. You can just feel the presence of Maggie, can't you?

I met Linda in 1987. I wrote her a letter about some mutual interests and, to my surprise, she phoned me. We were friends for a few years. She sent me an autographed copy of Gooberz when it was published and she also once sent me a book about Dolphins and telepathy. I was so sorry to hear of her illness and eventual passing.

To me, Linda seemed so...well...Aries. Very up front and willing to say what she thought. I wouldn't quite use the word intimidating, because she was so full of love and acceptance, but she definitely knew where she stood on most every subject we discussed. I really liked Linda. She was amazing.

Aselzion...care to share any stories?

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome. I'm so glad I "stumbled" onto your wonderful site. I've been a fan of Linda's for years. She's the one that got me interested in Nicola Tesla after reading "Star Signs". I think I have every book that has been written about him and I also visited the Tesla Museum in Colorado Springs.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Greetings...

Linda stories abound, but they aren't all magical and metaphysical... most involve the day to day running of the household, working on Star Notes and editing Gooberz.

Fishkitten, I will not invade your privacy publicly by asking your name, but did you write a letter to Linda detailing several moves (Austin TX, Creede CO,) an encounter with Dolphins and an eventual move to Canada? Did you also include a Lexigram of your name, and an assertion that you knew Linda in another time?

If this sounds like you, I actually have a copy of one of your letters in my files. Linda had sent it to me before I joined her in Colorado.

I would like to discuss this matter more with you, if you are the person I'm thinking of... small world, eh?

In the Light...

Great stories...

But what I would like to know is, who was the young man who answered the door? Was it you, Aselzion?

Greetings...

Blessings...

Yep, Aselzion, that's me. My last name has changed since then, as I have returned to the use of my birth name. Randall and Ra have my e-mail address. I would love to discuss anything of interest to you, so please feel free to contact me any time. It is a small world, but as Linda would say, there are no coincidences.

Wow! Wow! and triple Wow!.....

Ariesgirl...Fishkitten....what wonderful Linda stories! ! !

I ALWAYS dreamed of meeting her, but alas, t'was not to be....

You were so blessed to have met and connected with her...

....and Aselzion...how wonderful that you worked for her....

Linda GREATLY influenced my life...starting with her book SUN SIGNS back in the early 70's....sent me on a lifetime metaphysical and spiritual pursuit....Yes, Linda opened unimagined doors for me with that book...not to mention all her books which followed....Linda was very important in my life..

Love,
Rainbow
