Well, sesame, now the question becomes, "how are you going to get it from me?" If you are familiar with IRC it will be easy, but otherwise I am at a loss.IP: Logged |

Yeah, it's a way of chating I think Iternet Relay Chat though I could be wrong. I guess files may also be passed. However, email would be easier... I will also place it on my web page for all to download as below. If the files really big, then I will most likely download it from an Internet cafe. I believe you had another post that advocated Mozilla Firefox. I tried it but kept getting errors as I did with IE. I didn't really like Netscape so I am now using Opera. This one's cool as it has google built in, and many of it's own favourites.Best of Luck, Dean. ------------------ People walk at their own speed... Yes, Dean, that's what the IRC is. Though I think it's mIRC. There are websites where you can download the program.Though I too would think email is easier. Paras? IP: Logged |

Yes, I have the programs, but don't use it as I don't have adsl. My internet is $50 for 50 hours without any fees indefinitely and hence I don't surf much from home. I may get it sometime soon though. It's coming down nicely.Dean. IP: Logged |

Is that dial up? Some ADSL over here is $20 per month for 300 MB limit - 15 cent/meg after that, but that's capped at $60 to prevent some companies from stealing too much. I usually check the place out at work when I have time, but I wanna get it at home sometime soon. I'm getting married soon so it's taking less priority at the mo.Heaps of Love, Dean. IP: Logged |

IRC, Internet Relay Chat, is an internet protocol - a format for exchange of data. mIRC is a client - a program that makes it easy to use the IRC protocol. With it you can connect to the public chat networks that have been around since the early eighties. If you download mIRC, it has an excellent help file for using IRC (ircintro.hlp), it is short, sweet, and to the point. IRC is not difficult to use.The program, mIRC, has a built-in capability to make DCC (direct client-to-client) file transfers. In other words, after two computers use the IRC network to 'find' each other, the transfer is made directly from one computer to the other via normal internet routing. In mIRC, this is accomplished by a simple drag-and-drop. In other words, it's a private transfer. No third-party involvement. This is the simplest way I know to get a file to someone. FTP is a pain in the butt (one of use would have to set up an FTP server on their computer, blah), and the file is way too big for e-mail (39.7 mb). So, take an hour out of your life and learn to use mIRC and IRC. You can find me on Undernet, in #wonderland. (I go by my last name there: nimh). IP: Logged |

Yes Dean, it's dial up. I'm living out in the country, so faster speeds via cable systems are just now becoming available, for about $40-60 per month.Congrats on your impending nuptials!! I'm so very happy for you. I do have the IRC downloaded, but rarely use it, btw. IP: Logged |

Hey Paras, I've just realised that yahoo now allows 100 M. I delet all the spam constantly so I'd have enough... Whether you do is another story What if you zip it? Do you mean the email "protocol" itself is bad for transmitting large files? It'd take me ages to download, but I'd probably go to a cafe and immediately upload to my web page or see if they have CD burners.Trillian, yes, every day I feel so Lucky. My Fiance is an absolutely beuatiful Pisces named Sally. She has moon in Taurus in I think Aries rising which seems to match my Virgo moon and sag rising awesomely. I'm a gem, but neptune in first so I always seem attracted to Pisces. We're geeting hitched on the 24th of September (chosen numerologically of course) I have true node in Libra, so maybe the astro will work, and its no a Friday - the bast day of the week. It'll also be right in front of the beach for good photos. A bit of a family reuniun will follow as always. I can't wait! Heaps of Love, Dean. IP: Logged |

It lets you clean it every week too. I'm kinda annoyed that gmail will have 10 meg limits. It gives 1 Gig, you'd think attachements could be bigger! Yahoo also scans attachments before downloads Hey Paras, I figured out our dillema. You could split the file into 4 X 10 meg files and send seperately. I found a freeware program that'll do it recently in a magazine. I can't remember what the name was, but I could email it to you if you like? (deanbausch@yahoo.com.au) Thanks, Dean. ------------------ People walk at their own speed... E-mail just wasn't made for the transmission of large files. It's meant to send text messages, which are very small in terms of filesize. An entire book will fit into 300k or less!ISP's don't really like it when you send huge files through e-mail, and for good reason. It's like filling your gas tank through a bar straw. I could send it to you the way you described, assuming my ISP will let me send 10mb attachments, but it really goes against my nature to do it. I'd really rather mIRC it. It's sooooo much easier. If you're smart enough to write a numerology program, IRC won't take you 20 minutes to figure out. IP: Logged |

Intelligence has nothing to do with it. I don't have internet at home (it ended recently and I might move soon) not to mention I'm in Australia so the time I will be at home, you'll probably be asleep.Don't worry about it. I don't need to see it. Thanks, Dean. IP: Logged |

i want to cry and yell and have the most annoying little-kid temper tantrum in the world. i just spent over an hour trying to download this thing and it just keeps "buffering" and then stopping, so I think it's done, but when I go to play it, it buffers again. Paras - are you still around? I'll download IRC if you can send me the file.. going back to adult mode now... LMB IP: Logged |
