my lovely Morgana...yes there is always a skeptic...I to am one at times..thats why i do my research. lol. that is a YOUNGER linda in the year book photo.this is the reason I love this site...someone will always come along and find threads and approach them with there heart, looking for meaning in that which we do not see. when I first came upon this info, some said the same as you, but then i added the photos of the friends, the canto from gooberz and such...do you have to add more proof to convince you my friend? It okay though, I love a good challenge, i was wondering when the year book picture would get challenged again. I love it!! that shows that people really do love her and aren't just here to PLAY and FIGHT and some of the other things that happen here. It Amazes me sometimes the things I read on here...other forums and such, but when I read someone questioning things AGAIN...it makes me smile because then I know we'll be here for a long time!!! Thorshammer,I respect your opinion, and to keep this debate within the boundaries of tolerance, I'll assume you respect mine Therefore I'll also assume that your personal beliefs and opinions are not an established doctrine which brands people with a different opinion as 'sceptics'. I consider myself a believer, but I believe in myself and my judgment before anyone else's. One man's believer is another man's sceptic. So, let's just say we agree that we disagree for now, OK But for the sake of argument, let's say that the person in the yearbook is our Linda - can you or anyone else explain the extra-curricular activities written below her name: Dramatics Club, Office Assistant, Retail Selling (!) - ? All this doesn't sound like the Linda we know. I know she wrote poems since the early age and that she loved to write, she excelled in grammar and English, so wouldn't it be more logical for her to be in a Literary Club or a Book Club, or writing for the school paper, or something along those lines? A person of her talent and intelligence must've stood out somehow in this field. Drama Club, Office Assistant and Retail Selling just don't cut it somehow. Is there some mention somewhere of her being in a Drama Club in school? I'm curious to find out. And for some more comparison: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/thorhammermjolnir/detail?.dir=ad8c&.dnm=9bee.jpg&.src=ph http://lovestarz.com/maryalice.html

Your'e talking about the 1st pic on the 2nd row? That year book photo (IMO) is NOT Linda. No way! She never had curly hair. Her lips aren't like that either. Linda's eyes are bigger. I can't see any resemblance at all.------------------ "...and dreams, don't ever forget, are the first step in manifesting wishes into reality" -Linda Goodman IP: Logged |

I hear what your saying Morgana. I thought aobut the same things too, the clubs and such..but it was 1943, things were a little different. The war was coming up and everyone was bunkers! LOL.people do change..thats all I can say about people. especially 17 year olds. BUT I do respect your opinion as you do mine...thats why I am going to get you more proof..hopefully it should be at my house sometime in the next two weeks. Hopefully next week sometime depending on our Postal system. Everytime I look at that picture I wonder a tiny bit. I wonder if its not true, but I have to go with pure instinct in knowing people and what they say and the proof they give. Could it be my contact just happened to find a Mary Alice Kemery and three people with the same names that our Linda stated in Gooberz? what are the chances. I mean I contacted this person...they didnt find me. so maybe they were just waiting for someone to contact them so they could pull out their fake Linda Goodman pictures and send me on a joy ride...I mean they must have known I was coming....maybe. I doubt it, and now i must proove this to you because i love you so dearly Knowflake, I can feel your wings buzzing against me..lol it is all good. the most amazing thing for me when looking for things about Linda was...they came right to me...Of course when your looking truly for something..it will come. And finding the picture of Sam led to a wider road. Its okay the way we see people, we all have eyes that see different. IF linda had put some picture on her books of a younger her, we'd all be on the same page, whether i was correct or not. what confuses me is the people who have known linda on here..I am sure someone had seen younger pictures of her...why doesnt anyone say anything...someone else has proof, whether they talk or just read here, someone knows and they are laughing at me or you or both of us..lol. even the typing picture...we all agree that its not our linda, but when i went to look for the evidence i got a different story. the person that put that picture up there said that he got it from another person. I called that person and he did swear it was linda HE SAID it was her, and of course I couldnt see it. but i just left it as that, because my linda the one she wanted me to see was on the back of books on web tv, etc. the person who said that was linda at the typewriter stated, "oh yeah thats Linda, she was a deep smoker and that and the diabetes really affected her health." so I dont know..just another mystery to be cracked to me. but I knew that if i had said "thats not linda!" he just would have laughed at me or something..lol. all in all, we can only hear a person, but have our own opinion. when I got those year book pictures of Linda and her friends, when talking to her old friend I kept saying "linda this and Linda that" but he always Said, "Mary Alice did that, and Mary Alice did this." And I knew it was the truth, he never saw her as Linda, just Mary Alice that he went to school with...lol. isnt that funny. here were are with our own opinion and he and I had ours too...i called her by the name she wanted us to know, but he dared not. Just a matter of opinion I guess. Love ya guys IP: Logged |

OK Thorshammer, sadly I don't have my wings yet, so I'm not buzzing against you as you put it I'm just looking for truth, so please don't take this personally. I just stated my opinion because it's in my nature to challenge every dogma and fixed opinion. You don't have to collect proof because of me, I was not challenging you. I have to go with my instincts just like you do. In the meantime, I'll look for the names of her friends that you mentioned. In the end, time will tell all. We just have to be patient and forget that time exists, and the answer will come right after. In my experience, it always does.I'd like to see more of Linda's pics though. I think we all saw just those few that are on backs of books, the others probably weren't published. Maybe when someone finally writes her biography... Let us hope IP: Logged |

"she couldn't have curly hair"? But it was the fashion. Every single girl in the book has curly hair. When straight hair was fashionable, she had straight hair. Nose job, chin job? Lots of people have 'em. She was intersested in different things? Thank god for that!IP: Logged |

Thorshammer, I know your contact; I contacted this person years ago and we are friends now. The yearbook picture is Linda, is Mary Alice Kemery. If some choose not to believe, all right, but I know the contact was a real friend and confidant of Linda's - both in high school and in her early days at the radio station. love and light, LMB if you want to email me, you can at lmb@linda-goodman.com i think that still works. Hi Thor,I would have to agree that the picture of the woman at the typewriter is not Linda. The nose and facial features are different. The fashion and quality of the photo seems to be from the 80s...and we all have a general idea of what Linda looked like then. Also, I am a nurse and have seen patients with long-term uncontrolled diabetes. Great physiological changes do occur, but facial features are generally not altered. Uncontrolled diabetes does not cause edema or weight gain. It does cause loss of lower extremities, as was the case with Linda. The school picture I do believe to be her. What are the odds that another Mary Alice Kemery graduated from a high school in WVA that our Linda would have graduated from and had friends with the same names? I would say virtually nil. The girl in the picture has a strength in her eyes that Linda did have. She also has somewhat angular features, as did Linda. And I am sure most teenagers in 1943 set their hair with rollers, especially for a school photo. And how could anyone doubt that Linda would have been in the drama club??? The fact of the matter is that Linda's writing career commenced later in life as did her passion for astrology. Girls in the 40s were often involved in activites that were expected of them, hence the retail thing, particularly if the young lady felt less capable of fulfilling the expectations of a woman than her peers. Linda's writing ability could have been a latent talent. I confess that the photo doesn't scream Linda to me, but I don't doubt it's authenticity. The only way that isn't Linda is if the photo and yearbook are fakes. Many of us look vastly different than our yearbook photos. L of L, Jen IP: Logged |
