I can't THANK YOU enough BiBi for sharing your insight about our Linda.I didn't knew that this site LINDA LAND ever existed until I happen to stumble in it by chance while doing some google search,of course my happiness knew no bound after finding it because I see there are so many like minded people in it.Her book Linda Goodman's star Signs has indeed changed my Life.At first I could not accept that our good old Linda is no more in this world, anyways where EVER she might be I firmly believe she is happily REUNITED with her Sally in the Kingdom of Heaven.THANKS AGAIN BIBI.

Roshanrai...

You're very welcome... the reason I shared sooo much was that after reading so many of the postings on this site... I knew this site was a community that truly loved Linda... as I did... and the most wonderful part of this site is the sharing...

I"m in agreement with you... Linda is with Sally... united with her child...

BiBi,
I too want to thank you for having taken the time to share your lengthy and very informative 2007 response. I have been a Linda Goodman fan since my first reading of Sun Signs back in 1983. I obtained and began my first read of Star Signs in June, 1989.
I just completed my most recent reread of Star Signs a few days ago. About halfway thru the review of chapter 9, Physical Immortality, I thought that a friend of mine would be interested in that subject. While briefly discussing that chapter with my friend, I was asked if Linda was still alive. I had to tell my friend I honestly didn't know, but would check it out. When I found out that Linda had left this life over 15 trips around the Sun earlier, my first response was one of being stunned and puzzled. Especially with the contents of chapter 9 so freshly renewed in my mind.
I can understand "transition". What I'm still puzzled about centers around Linda's statements in that chapter about the desirability and value of achieving cell regeneration and physical immortality, as well as the basic waste involved in NOT achieving such. Specifically, on page 517 Linda said "All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. The only distinction is that, with some people, suicide is a subconscious choice - and with others it is a conscious choice....Actually, all deaths are against the law - the law of eternal life..." And on page 523 Linda said "Physical death is unnatural."
The entire tone of the chapter is to encourage people to discover and take the steps necessary to attain that goal. BiBi, would you, as Linda's friend, share with us, to the extent that you are able, why, especially in light of her obviously enthusiastic composing of that chapter, Linda chose to commit suicide and go against the law of eternal life rather than show by her own personal example that such was possible? Also, why would she have referred to "a commitment test of spiritual honesty" on page 530, and then on the next page, 531, essentially say that, at the time of writing, she had completed 268 (400-132) trips around the Sun during her lifetime, when at the time of her "transition" some 8+ years after Star Signs was published, she had only completed 70+ trips around the Sun (1925 - 1995) ????
Thank you. Walt Maken

Welcome! Linda embellished her age "tongue-in-cheek" to show the futility of numbers. She explained later on in the chapter. Have you read Gooberz? Linda had a very painful life wrought with sadness, which she shared with all of us through her writing. My guess is that it finally caught up with her--her diabetes began to take over, and she was just ready to let this painful life go and depart.

Randall... your response is true... sad to say...

Walt... my personal belief is that Linda still had a belief system that she could achieve immortality... mind over body.. until the amputations started.

I don't like to view her leaving us as an act or choice to commit suicide... those are Linda's words.

It was like watching a brilliant light bulb... fade and fade and fade... and then went out. (Just like the air in my lungs are going out -- writing this reply.)

You're not alone in asking this question... my good friend Sondra Ray also asked me and so have others... I guess only Linda could answer this question in its fullness...

Perhaps the only thing I can add is I believe that what we think and feel in life eventually reflects into the physical body. Life for Linda became more of a struggle on more than one facet of her life.. and that's all I"m going to say. She still had joy, however, the sweetness in life wasn't as constant and I believe that's why she kept eating all the sweets... drinking all the coffee and smoking... I truly believe she believed she had her mind over ride the effects of all these daily elements she exposed her body to. I'd ask her why she exposed herself to so many sweets and etc... she would tell me she had it under control...she truly believed what she said... and it appeared she had it under control. However, after the first amputation she got a shock to her belief system. Kinda like when a boxer can defeat any foe... however, then comes the hit that sends them to the canvas of the ring. She got sent to the canvas, and then after the 2nd amputation... well...

In closing, only Linda could 100% answer your question. Perhaps if anyone on the site does channeling... automatic writing, etc... could share their view points.

Bibi, Rolland,

Thank you for your responses. Sorry for the delay in getting back. I can definitely empathize with the feelings Linda must’ve had as she progressively encountered the amputations and possibly other increasing physical debilitations. Definitely would be a shock, and tend to be depressing.
In this present response, I initially was going to share more thoughts about the “tongue-in-cheek” that you mentioned, Randall. However, when I was approximately half way thru composing along that line, I realized that I was putting the cart before the horse, so to speak, and that there were higher priority matters that should be covered first.
First, I have a suggestion/request. If you go to the http://www.linda-goodman.com/cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimate.cgi page, you’ll note that there are currently six main forums: Reflection; Community; Linda; Transformation; Occult; and Growth. I would like to suggest/request that a seventh main forum be created; Physical Immortality. Under that main forum topic, I suggest that the following six sub-forum topics be initially created: Pros and Cons of Physical Immortality; On the Physical Immortality Road; Exercise and Physical Immortality; Nutrition and Physical Immortality; Physical Immortality Bibliography; Physical Immortality Filmography.
I realize that there is a Health and Healing sub-forum under the main Growth forum, and that there might end up being a bit of redundancy between entries in that Health and Healing sub-forum and entries in either the Exercise or Nutrition sub-forums of the Physical Immortality main forum. However, I think it would be important to have those Exercise and Nutrition sub-forums under the Physical Immortality main forum in order to keep the vital relevance of those two subjects to the attainment of physical immortality continually in the minds of those who might be interested in the subject of Physical Immortality. For if there’s one thing we can learn from Linda’s experience, it’s that in order to have a chance of realizing physical immortality, it is very important that we pay attention to our physical health. Simply having the knowledge she imparted in Chapter 9 of Star Signs will not be good enough if we’ve neglected or otherwise abused our physical health.
Bibi, on pages 570 - 572 of Star Signs, Linda referred to people she personally knew who were “On the Physical Immortality Road”. Would it be possible for you to contact those people, as well as any others you might personally know, and invite them to contribute their unique perspectives to the above suggested sub-forums of the Physical Immortality main forum? If they want to continue to maintain their anonymity, that’s fine. The most important part is for them to make their written contributions so that the specific steps they have taken, and continue to take, are shared with others who are interested in walking that path as well.
I think that’s probably enough for this time. Except to say that I’m thinking it would be appropriate to list Star Signs and Gooberz as the first two books in the Physical Immortality Bibliography sub-forum. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the results of establishing the additional Physical Immortality main forum, and am planning to contribute additional thoughts about the matter as well.
Thanks,
Walt

Randall,

I saw your "very interesting" response, but I'm not yet seeing the additional "Physical Immortality" main Forum or the suggested sub-forums under that new additional Forum. Does that mean that my suggestions have been rejected and you won't be creating those suggested items, or are you still thinking about the matter?

Thanks,

Walt

Not rejection per se'. This isn't a popular topic at this time and barely gets activity on one Forum; however, I can see it becoming much more active in the future.

WaltMaker... I ONLY wish I had the time to accommodate your wishes... however, at this time I do not... Perhaps latter as Randall says this topic will pick up traction... my schedule might not be so brutal and we can all revisit this request...

thank you for understanding......
