And Cappies are good at multi-tasking also, but my Virgo ASC makes me a perfectionist, so there's that. It gets in the way.IP: Logged |

Having been married to both a Capricorn and a Virgo and having many Capricorn and Virgo friends and acquaintances and siblings and father; yeah that sounds familiar! IP: Logged |

A Virgo ASC can be tough, though. I spot grammar errors without trying. IP: Logged |

I just try to avoid people making serious spelling errors; not so much grammar. The firm exception is when Lexigramming. I simply will not tolerate spelling errors and or homophone substitutions and slang/netspeak, such as; they're there there, and you ewe U, and your you're ur. Actually Lexigramming does not allow for such errors, often deliberate; because otherwise the resulting creations would not be Lexigrams. I met a person online recently who irks me terribly with her errors in posts. (not here at LL) She uses NO correctly, but then she also uses NO in lieu of KNOW, and TO she uses correctly, but then becomes lazy and or ignorant and uses TO in lieu of TOO and TWO. So far she has not used THERE THEIR OR THEY'RE incorrectly.

For the most part that is true. One can only learn so much by osmosis or general exposure and happenstance. Effort needs employed to fine tune the learning experiences affecting the resulting outcomes.

Unfortunately so, and people don't like effort, so most learn by osmosis through tv shows and movies.IP: Logged |

True. So in essence, to a great degree; the folks who would be otherwise barely to totally uneducated; do learn by availing themselves of, and even immersing themselves in the popular entertainment media. No one nowadays, what with the internet especially, has any valid reason to remain ignorant. I have made the point of; "get people to read anything! Get them to read movie captions, cereal boxes, signs, and comic books and graphic novels. One need not to read large hard copy tomes to get at least a modicum of education experience. Ways to learn how to read, proper grammar and so forth, can be had easily if one is discerning, and truly wants to learn.
