Montessori schools focus on play, but it's a private school. More public schools need to learn from that.IP: Logged |

Will try and find some learning quotes about children learning from playing. For now though; a few good ones about learning. My favorites are the first two. If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you. Zig Ziglar Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. Aristotle Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Nelson Mandela Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education. Martin Luther King Jr. The only thing that is more expensive than education is ignorance. Benjamin Franklin
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. Dr. Seuss
I was made for the library, not the classroom. The classroom was a jail of other people’s interests. The library was open, unending, free. Ta-Nehisi Coates

True. Or even education without comprehension or intelligence. As in literally parroting memorized passages, facts, but having little to no real understanding.IP: Logged |

I've seen that a lot at the college level, but not in law school. IP: Logged |

Colleges seem to "teach" that way too often. Law school I can see as being different, because you need to be precise in an interactive way; not only memorizing.IP: Logged |

Yes, they teach us to analyze. Rote memorization does no good. It's an uncomfortable rewiring of the brain from being in college.IP: Logged |

The rewiring one's brain is probably much like I had to do after so many TIAs (mini-strokes) and the ocular stroke. Definitely not easy but it does work! Just memorizing never worked. Only analyzing and reteaching myself how to learn worked.IP: Logged |

I'm kind of proud. I hated law school, so I made it more personal for me. I ran for class representative, and I won. Most people do it to put it on their resumes, but I wanted to get things accomplished, and I did make a difference. I also started my own organization, and it was tough, but we are now officially recognized. It will continue when I graduate in 2019. Funny how life is. I mean 19 is my lucky number, and I will graduate, take (and hopefully pass) the Bar exam, and start my law practice all in 2019!IP: Logged |
