For ages, the number 7 has been regarded as the number of mystery, representing the spiritual side of things-whereas the number 9, the end, or the finality of the series upon which all our materialistic calculations are built, has for an equal number of ages been regarded as the number of electrical energy and all life upon this planet in a material sense. The number 0 represents power (which is why it's the number of the planet, Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, since Pluto is the most powerful of all the planets). Add 0 to any number, and the more zeros you add, the more "powerful" the number becomes. From 1 to 10 to 100 to 1,000 to 100,000 to 1,000,000, and so on. The number 0 is considered to be the number of Eternity (the Eternal Now?)-the serpent, eating its own tail. Positive energy feeding into negative energy, resulting in a third energy, which is both, yet neither, and all-powerful.

It's most significant that Friedrich Kekule, who made the monumental discovery of the benzine ring structure, which paved the way for the theoretical apsect of organic chemistry, said that he dreamed repeatedly of "a snake eating its own tail," shortly before the concept occurred to him. His Higher Self was sending him a Morse Code message.

The number 1 is the first number comprehended by our 3-legged stool man. It represents, according to the ancients, the First Cause, the Creator, or God, call it what you like.

When you take the number 1 and add the symbol of Eternity-0-in a figure representing 1,000,000 or more, then divide it by the mystical number 7 (representing the spiritual side of things)-you get the number 142857, which has been called, from the beginning of time, the "sacred number." For example:

1,000,000 divided by 7= 142857

Add as many zeros as you like, and keep dividing by 7 through all of eternity, and you will always get repetitions of the same sacred number. Why is this a "sacred number"? Because these numbers, when added together, equal the double number 27, and when you add the 2 and the 7 of 27, you end up with 9-the number of electrical energy and all material life on this planet. This is also what is referred to in the Bible (never mind those satanic implications in horror films that try to scare you) in the statement the "666 is the number of man and the number of beast." Of course it is. 666 adds to 18 and 18 adds to 9, which is the number of all life on Earth.

1 +4 + 2 + 8 + 5 + 7 = 27 = 9. Sacred Number of Eternity.

Now, just think of that! When you take the number of the First Cause, or the Creator-1-then add the zeros-0-of Power, and divide by 7, the number of mystery and the Spiritual side of things-you get the sacred number 142857, which, when added, then produces the number 9-material Life. That's the whole story of existence, n'est-ce pas?

Why is 7 the number of mystery relating to spiritual matters? First, take the seven days of Creation, as symbolically referred to in Genesis-and the Seventh Heaven referred to several times in the Holy Works. The seven churches-the seven thrones-the seven Seals-the seven-day march around the walls of Jericho-and on the 7th day, the walls fell down, when Joshua blew the right note on his Ram's horn. There are 7 generations from the birth of David to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem ("who shall be born of the House of David").

Ezekiel speaks of "the seven angels of the Lord that go to and fro through the whole Earth," which is believed by metaphysicians to refer to the magnetic power points which radiate through the Earth, and could be the basis for Nikola Tesla's magnetic fields in the Earth, upon which he based his discovery of alternating current. This mysterious power is also spoken of in the Book of Revelation as "the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the Earth." And . . . look at all these additional repeats of the spiritual number 7:

The seven spirits of the Egyptian religion.
The seven Angels of the Chaldeans.
The seven Devas of the Hindu religion.
The seven Sephiroth of the Hebrew Kabala.
The seven Amschaspands of the Persian faith.
The seven Archangels of Revelation . . . and on and on . . .

In every religion, the number 7 symbolizes the mysterious "God Force," or spiritual power. It's inescapable. Remember, the number of the planet Neptune, ruler of Pisces, the Fish, is 7. The Fish was the symbol of Christianity during the time of Jesus, who was born during the Age of Pisces (the previous Age to this Aquarian Age). The miracles performed by the Nazarene were all Neptunian, mysterious and spiritual in essence. Just a preliminary touch of Lexigrams here-when you take the word "essence," and remove the "c" for Christ, the word you have left is Essene. It was among the Essenes up in the mountains where Jesus spent many of his "lost years," learning numerology and astrology, among other studies.)

It was probably the Essenes who first discovered what the Chaldeans and Hindus also knew: that the number 7 is the only number capable of dividing the number of Eternity-of continuing itself as long as the number representing Eternity lasts, and yet, at every addition of itself, produces the number 9, the basis of all material calculations, and the entire edifice upon which human life depends and human thought finds expression. Even stranger, astronomers are puzzled by the seven-day week, first conceived in the Book of Genesis, because the period of 7 days doesn't fit precisely into either months or seasons of the -year. It is said to be "a number man would not naturally adopt."

The material number 9 fascinates me personally even more than the magical facets of the spiritual number 7, mostly, I guess, because it's the number of my favorite planet, Mars-ruler of my Aries sun sign. The number 9 can do even more "magic tricks" than the number 7 in proving itself to be the number of electrical energy, the Alpha and the Omega (beginning and end of everything)-and of all human life on Earth, on the material plane of existence. Let's put 9 through its tricks.

To begin with, when you add together all the numbers in our numerical system . . . 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +5 +6 + 7 + 8 + 9 . . . you get the number 45, which, when you add the 4 and 5, becomes nine. There's no escaping or denying it. In this Third Dimension we live within on our present level of evolvement, 9 is the Big Boss.

The number 9 cannot be destroyed, no matter how many times you multiply it or add it to its own multiple, and this is true of no other number. 2 times 9 equals 18, which adds to 9. 3 times 9 is 27, which adds to 9. 4 times 9 is 36, which adds to (or reduces to) the single number 9-and so on, into infinity. To repeat, 9 cannot be destroyed-and neither can the human life it represents be destroyed.

We have the 9-day prayers of the Novenas in the Catholic Church. In Freemasonry (based on astrology) there is the Order of the 9 Elected Knights, and in the working of this order 9 roses-9 lights and 9 knocks must be used.

A Great Sidereal Year is 25,920 years. When added, these figures become 18, which reduces to the single number 9. The Sidereal Year is closely related to the Precession of the Equinoxes: the length of time it takes for all the planets to return to their original positions and relationships to each other. It takes 72 years to complete one degree of this equinoctical precession. 7 +2 equal 9. Any number of degrees of equinoctical precession equate to 9. Two degrees, for instance, take 144 years-three degrees take 216 years-five degrees take 360 years-ten degrees take 720 years-and so on. All of which add to or reduce to 9. This is no accident or coincidence. It's part of the synchronized harmony of the Universe.

John Nelson, former head of RCA Laboratories in New York, used astrology to calculate weather conditions for RCA. He told me he had discovered that when two planets are "square" to each other in a particular latitude/longitude, a thunderstorm occurs. In astrology, in a human horoscope, a square is an aspect of "tension"-and planets "square" each other when they are exactly 90 degrees apart. 9 again. (Remember that this isn't necessarily negative, because thunderstorms "clear the air" in a most refreshing way.)

The human mean normal respiration rate is 18 times a minute, and 1 + 8 equal 9.
The mean normal heartbeat or pulse rate is 72 times a minute. 7 + 2 equal 9.
The average number of heartbeats per hour is 4,320-9 again.
The average number of respirations per hour is 1,080-9 again.
In 24 hours, your heart beats an average of 103,680 times-equaling 9.
In the same 24-hour period, respiration occurs an average of 25,920 times- exactly the same number of times as there are years to a Great Sidereal Year!

Is it any wonder that the Scriptures tell us 666 (9) is the number of man and beast?

Well, suffice it to say that fifty seven percent was difficult to maintain.
