You got to face up to it: people are going to smoke, whether there are these warnings or not? So at the end of the day, you gotta think what they are trying to prove?IP: Logged |

Why, didn't you all know that the affirmations on the cig packs are not for the smoker? It's for the medical/pharmacutical companies? Reverse psychology! Feel worse about yourself and for sure you'll contract a disease, have to get therapy, take pills, see a doc... It's all about money folks. (I'm so cynical these days.)IP: Logged |

I wouldn't criticize yourself about being cynical philbird, I think what you said is true. It's not hard at all to see how the US government uses advertisement and media of all kinds to brainwash us all for their financial benefit and to keep their moral standards alive. It's all very creepy to me.. I say whats the big issue at all? If you really really think that something WILL eventually make you ILL or KILL you, then it will happen. In my state there has been such an uproar in society and law and ads about anti-smoking, and it really bothers me very much. I would like to see them quit wasting time on that and start campaigning against meth maker, dealers and users or something that actually has the potential to ravage society and do some real damage. It all makes me sick.IP: Logged |

I wonder how many anti-smoking militants drive cars or trucks that pollute my air every day? Maybe there should be warning (bumper) stickers on those, too. But golly, that would infringe on our vehicular rights. Downright Un-American. How silly of me. IP: Logged |

i live in australia also and the government are bringing out out new pictures now, like they cover half the packet, picture of rotting teeth and stuff like that i don't know what they actually intend to prove by doing this but it does go to show the efforts they will put into bailing water out of a sinking ship when all they had to do in the first place was build it properlyalso i agree with the whole "they're doing it so people get sick and the pharmacy's make more money" it's entirely true i don't know about the rest of the world but here in australia the insurence for docters has gone through the roof so basically i see it like this a docter buys shares in a pharma company or opens up a store they then start "referring" their "patients" (you'd have to be PATIENT if you're going to see a docter cause it takes that damn long to finally get to them) to their clinics to buy their drugs that they own of course this makes perfectly good sense, wether or not this is ACTUALLY happening i don't know ------------------ Go where there is no path and leave a trail IP: Logged |

I'm sure it's happened more than once.------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. i've got a real one, well i supose they are all real until proven... not realanyways, i was listeninig to talk back radio the other day and in australia the pre-scriptions of riddalin and dexianphetamene have gone through the roof ADHD and ADD are the most over diagnosed "mental conditions" (funny they call it that and yet instead of conditioning them mentally to re-verse it they drug them) anyways my point is the docters are prescribing all these drugs to children so that the pharma companies make more money, i don't know how many docters own shares in pharma companies but you don't need to be a astro phsyicist guru to see what's going on here what really "irritates" (i'll use that word instead of the more extreme adjectives) me is that they are doig it to our children, basically putting more nails in the coffin of the human race, what do we have to look forward too in 20 years time? an entire generation of drugged up lost depressed adults with nearly no direction at all, infact i'll be as bold as to say the government is using this "mental condition" to get the next generations hooked on drugs that only they have the legal right to sell, think about how much leverage they'll have over us IF that does happen ------------------ Go where there is no path and leave a trail IP: Logged |

i know what you're saying, i'm all for that i just get kinda annoyed when it seems the government is openly trying to enslave our race they're basically half why there with the whole "you're with us or against us" corporate policy i know it could just be the karma of the human race cause i know we have done alot of horrible things to each other our brothers and sisters in the animal kingdom and mother earthbut it still gets to me, i care too much to be able to quietly sit and watch it all happen ------------------ Go where there is no path and leave a trail IP: Logged |
