The three paths outlined by the late Dr Charles Muses details three paths to be taken by the soul. In my studies of the Lion path I did not create these couches as something out of my reach; but rather, points of reference that had an internal correspondence for the practitioner.

The Path of the Hippo corresponded to the Sexual Chakra (Apet).

The Path of the Cow Corresponded to the Heart Chakra (Hathors)

The Path of the Lion corresponded to the Third Eye Chakra (Sekhmet)

Instituting the the corresponding Egyptian Goddesses, in parentheses, at each point left me with the understanding that things are not as fixed as Dr Muses taught. All of the Goddesses listed can be found at all three points.

So where am I going with this?

That the goddesses can be found at all three sites suggests a missing component for the Lion path practitioner: the one of internal alchemy. To be more specific, the need to develop with an alchemical practice such as Kundalini yoga in order to raise the frequency of the body to support non molecular transmutation.

While Dr Muses taught through the use of sound married with cosmological positioning, Is there anything that suggests that there was/is an alchemical component to the Lion Path? While some may say it is the use of khat, a substance that is supposed to support the practitioner's progress (I don't believe that he actually advocated its use). Dr Muses seemed to make his exposition of the Lion Path knowledge a quest in assemblying the body of Osiris (in that you had to look at so many of his other works and associations to get a better understanding of what he is talking writing about), one thing I found suggestive of an alchemical component to the Lion Path is the reverse spiraling technique as taught by Linda Goodman. Though a simple technique, It also opens the door to the use of mandalas for alchemical purposes: working with them to trigger the Kundalini energy as well in helping work energetically on the cellular level.

The late Dr Glenn Morris wrote about how important the activation of Kundalini energy was in ancient Egypt. It is a wonder that Dr Muses, with his knowledge of ancient Egypt, would not seem to pursue that route.

The last sentence of my initial post used the word "seem".

Though Dr Muses did not include an alchemical foundation to the Lion Path, it does not mean that he never traveled that road. I had to go back to circa 1955 to find something. Then a book was published: "A System of Caucasian Yoga" by Count Walewski. Count Walewski was the owner of the defunct Esoterica Book store in NYC. Therein, one would find a collection of alchemical practices. This information was dictated from Count Walewski to none other than Dr Muses. While some may believe that the knowledge comes from Count Walewski, I believe that it was either a collaboration between Count Walewski and Dr Muses or a complete work of Dr Muses that enlisted Count Walewski as the "fall guy" (I guess that is a collaboration as well). There are other reasons to believe it to be the work of Dr Muses:

1- If you have hungered for information on the Lion Path the way that I have you will notice that the pattern of expression throughout the work is incredibly close to the way Dr Muses expresses himself in his writings. And this work was supposed to be a dictation.

2- The work seamlessly integrates practices from Egypt, India, Tibet (could be more) in a way that I have seen Dr Muses do.

3- There is a montage that appears to reference Dr Muses' understandings more that anything else. Included in that montage is a cluster of three spirals. Even a few mathematical symbols were thrown in.

4- Though dictated to Dr Muses, he maintained the copyright to this work until he surrendered it to the Borderland Sciences Research Foundation, where it is available for purchase.

As to why he did not make reference to this work in his Lion Path books, I do not know. I guess it was/is for us to discover in our quest to assemble the body of his teachings (Osiris). Before stumbling upon the Lion Path, I practiced meditation, the alchemical kind. It was only because of that I found the practice of the Lion Path to be lacking something in its model.

The meditation that I shared, Moonchild:A Meditation on the Five Elements, can be of great assistance to those on the Lion Path. It is quite alchemical in nature and works on the cellular level, bypassing all channels. To find a cross cultural equivalent of the Three Couches we would have to go to China. In Taoist meditation methods there is a saying, Ching Chi Lien Hua, meaning transmute the sexual essence to energy and bring it up to the flower. The flower is the head. If we look at this we see the Three Couches that Dr Muses talks about in the Lion Path. And from the Taoist perspective it is achieved via alchemical methods. The flower also represents that Golden Embryo. There is no passive method to achieve it (See side Note). This applies to other similar, if not identical achievements, as well: the Diamond body, the Coat of Many Colors, the Indestructible Body,etc.

To close, the Lion Path's three couches do correspond to an endo-biogenic experience that points the way to a component that is "missing" in the Lion Path. And I have provided what may very well be the missing link to the Lion Path. It is hoped that those who followed this route give it an objective viewpoint and try to fill in what may need to be addressed to ensure their success.

Side note:

While I mention Kundalini practices, similar practices, regardless of where they come from, represent a start. It is akin to showing up at the starting line/point of a cosmological drag race in a a Ford Model T. It is the commitment to fearlessly step on the gas when that Christmas tree flashes green that sparks the true beginning of what we call the Lion Path. It is fearlessness in the face of adversity, giving all to that moment we call NOW that will cause us to arrive at the finish line in the most tricked out dragster ever seen, the product of focus, dedication, and commitment. When we make the commitment to move forward from our starting point, the transmutation begins!

Still, we must be able to arrive at the starting point.

To a great many, the Lion Path is closed. Nothing can be farther from the truth. ALL of the cosmological/energetic time gates listed by Dr Muses are active.
