Virgo Rising, I was laughing out loud when I read your post. You know, I'm not like that at all. I don't do anything mechanical for fear it'll ruin my French manicure. I'll ruin it in a heartbeat though to go diving or do something fun with my kids! I'm actually very feminine and can usually be found in heeled sandals, short skirts or dresses with my nails and hair done. And my perfume....well, Randall has no complaints there.

I'm with you on the pantyhose, Princess. They might as well put yeast collector on the package!! I'll only wear those things to major events and I'm kicking and screaming the whole way. Thankfully, I live in the warm climate and my legs are tan year round!

Now Auriel,
Whats so funny about being mechanically inclined? Unfortunately, cars are all computerized now so I'm only qualified to work on my own (she's a classic). I can thank my first boyfriend's best friend for the knowledge. All they ever talked about was cars so I was doomed to get to know the subject ( the B/F owned a 'Cuda for any car buffs....it was FAST!!!) My first mechanical task was packing wheel bearings.
Chronicprincess....you've just discovered that you're a manly woman....what are your hidden talents?

Formal events, Princess. I take my kids to the civic center for shows at least once a month when the season opens--which it recently did-yeah!!! It's kind of frowned upon when you show up for the Hong Kong ballet or Russian Ballet in short skirt and no nylons.

It was the way you described it, Virgo Rising. My real Mom is a very prissy Fish and works on cars too.

VirgoRising~ Hidden talents? Hold on - lemme look ........... Nope, none there! It could only be my independent nature and assertiveness which would qualify me as *manly* (absurd lol) Otherwise, I'm all G I R L!

Auriel~ Wearing a short skirt to a formal affair <you go girl!>, I'm shocked that you would care! Besides... I'm thinking it would only be some of the *women* that would frown

But it's fun to put on a long skirt that has a slit all the way up the leg and high heeled, strappy sandals! Otherwise, I probably wouldn't care!

RATS!!! I've never been one to turn heads in a crowed room. Usually, I'm the 'pal' they come tell all their troubles too. I fix their 'boo boo's', give 'em a good meal or some homemade cookies...some sound advice and a 'friend' they can really talk to.

Of course, it has been said I do clean up pretty good

Virgo rising!
You do "pack bearings" too!!! ROFL
I always used to get stuck with that job! Then the boys let me upgrade to adjusting brakes! sheees! little did they know I'd been bleeding brakes since I was about 7 or 8!!
when I was 17 I helped my father re-store a 1957 morris minor, which became my first car...guess who had grind the valves though and do the wheel cylinders!
Aus

oh & my votes in for the ban pantyhose party too! eeuk! I could never wear em anyway 'cause my legs were too long...had to wear stockings & suspenders!! at least until they started putting lycra into hose, now I'll wear opaques if I'm really desperate in winter...but those thin laddery things? No Way!

& I've found a line of bras that dont have wire!!! but still have great support! & best of all look great! heeehee, reminds me...have you guys seen the "frequent flyers" bra yet? they dont have wire so they won't set off airport metal detectors after the security increases lately. when I saw them advertised I thought hummpf! I'm a frequent flyer & I never set off the metal detector! (except for my hiking boots)...then I remembered...I don't have wire in my bras!

sorry boys I hope we aren't alienating you with the conversation.....we could talk about jock straps if you like.

OH YOU BUNCH ARE WAY TOO FUNNY...

Girl, boy, animal, vegetable or mineral, I LOVE YOU ALL

I once changed a wheel with some help from Paul. I chipped my nail polish and had to be given a small medicinal brandy to calm me down...

When I was a little girl, my mom says I was a real tomboy. Hated dresses! But I remember sneaknig up to her room when she was out and dressing up in her swishy gowns and high heeled shoes, and spreading lipstick all over the place... I was so anxious to grow up and do it properly!

Oh, keep up this string, It's fab...

ROFL!!! Grey....I believe there's an ad listed here somewhere for a SF. The guy posting it sounds like he's a sweetie with a good heart. If he likes animals you might get over your 'guy' hang-up and just settle in to the softer side of YOU.
Good Luck

Now Grey....I must point out that you are contradicting yourself, because if you are actually a GIRL then your current assumption of heterosexuality would actually be homosexuality. If only your parents had had modern technology so they could have raised you in the proper gender *sigh*

We all owe Auriel a huge thank you for enlightening us....I have been laughing for two days!!!

Aus....I haven't done anything technical like the grinding I did install my own water pump tho.
I learned how to drive on a 1932 Model B truck....my brother still has it!
Ahhh, the farm. Sometimes I really miss it. All that land to get lost on. The wildlife.... I need to go warn the deer about hunting season!!!

Well, I finally took that darn test, and found out all these years I have been living under a mis-conception.
It said I was a man

Boy, is my husband in for a 'surprise'...
