You'll never guess what happened this morning!!!! The huge Mulberry tree in front of my Mom's house pulled out of the ground and fell over onto her lawn area; where an Orange tree is, and Rose tree/bushes are all around!!!! Luckily it missed the house, but it pulled out all the power/utility/cable/phone lines!!!! So my poor Mommy has NO electricy, phone or cable. Also, the Electric Co. here is *swamped* with calls because of the rain/wind storm, so they might not even get to her until late tonight, or sometime tomorrow!!!! The phone company is not even available until tomorrow! She wasn't even home when it happened; a neighbor had seen it and called her at work to come home. I swear it is just one thing after another for my family. IP: Logged |

It could have been much worse. She actually sounds very lucky to me. Much Love and Light to her during this time of trouble. ------------------ "Man is the only animal that blushes...or needs to." Mark Twain IP: Logged |

Nephy...it sounds to me like that 'favored' mulberry tree sacrificed itself to save your mother's house. It put itself in harms way (the wind or a lightening bolt that hit the power line and was headed into the house to start a fire..maybe??) so she could be safe. Probably didn't realize your mom wasn't home at the time. You need to either get your mom or you to say a special prayer for that tree for it's bravery. And for it's return here or for it to return to Eden as a special tree Think I am going bonkers on you? Ask your HIGHER 'ELF' and see what SHE says ------------------

Yes Yivy I believe you are right about the Mulberry Tree... Trees are very protective and if mom loved the tree, it would, in return, be her protector.Love and Light to the Tree... and thank God and the Universe it wasn't worse... Still sucks being without utilities, though, doesn't it? Nephthys: Sending a big prayer out to the Utilities Fairies that the sources of your moms troubles are revealed to her, and that she soon has her 'power' back... {thnk about that one!} Love and light and hugs to you... Hi Nephthys... Sorry I am coming into this late but I am very happy to hear that no one was harmed. That's the important thing. And just think, in the illusion of 5 years from now, it really won't matter, right?! Best wishes for all to return to normalcy as soon as possible!Claire IP: Logged |

Thanks to everyone who replied for your support. There seems to be some confusion though. The tree didn't "save" my mother from anything. 1. This was not a lightening storm. 2. The power lines were not loose on their own, so they wouldn't have started a fire. The roots of the tree were cut this summer when the driveway was redone (which was a very bad luck situation with the contractor who also ruined the side of the house, which he refused to pay for, also refused to lower the charges on the contract which my Mom had signed). So the roots were holding the tree in its place firmly, until they were cut by the contractor. The heavy water from the rain and the wind blew the tree over, it had no support to stand up as the roots were cut too close to the stump. It pulled out all the power/utility/cable lines. The Electric company still has not arrived, it's almost 4 p.m. here so it's almost 2 days now. All her food in her refrig. and freezer are spoiled; including all her homemade applesauce and plum jams which she had made and froze. Thanks for the support, and yes, we are glad and lucky the tree didn't fall onto the house, but in all actuality it is not a lucky situation. Also my mother has had enough bad luck as well as our family. IP: Logged |

Neph~ Where in CA are you? I live in north San Diego county and apparently we had some rain while we were gone for the weekend, as well as LA... but only a couple of inches. What's the hold up with the elec/phone companies? Why don't you go purchase some lovely scented candles for your Mom's house? Candlelight is a *good* thing - and being without TV for a few days can't be all that bad... phone - got a cell she could borrow? I'm so sorry to hear about the tree very sad that it was abused by that evil contractor!! But, don't worry, I'm sure there is a tree fairy that will take care of him However, I really believe there is ALWAYS a silver lining in every cloud, but we have to LOOK FOR IT! Neptunianideal~ hmmmmm.. sounded pretty mushy to me! Didn't it to you, YIVY? ~Princess

YIVY~ No, you don't sound like you are bonkers, just quite InSightful and...Neph~ whether or not the tree was taken down thru human error or a storm doesn't really change what YIVY related to you, only the circumstance, see? ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

Nephthys, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we can't see this when bad things are taking place. I, too, get caught up in the apparent negatives of the situation when I am a part of the experience. I think we all do. But you can rest assured that things will get better and make more sense later. In the in-between time, I'm sending your Mom all the Light I can muster. ------------------ "Man is the only animal that blushes...or needs to." Mark Twain IP: Logged |

Dear Princess ~ Thank you. I live in Novato and my Mom lives in San Rafael (Terra Linda). (in Marin County). The Electric Co. still has not gone over there! Argh! It is 3 days now. Apparantly they are short staffed and have 3000 people without power. (so they say). She does have candles - but I don't have a cell phone, nor does she. Randall Thanks again for your support and your generosity of sharing your Light Thanks again everyone IP: Logged |

Nephthys, my mom has been experiencing the same thing. Everything has gone wrong. To top it all off, a drunk ran into her house. There was a club house for my nephew in the front yard, and it saved the house from being damaged, but it was destroyed and so was the fence. Normally, at that time, my nephew and his friends would have been camping out in the club house! By some rare chance, they weren't that night. Her fridge also went out. Her brother (my uncle) beat a long bout of cancer and totally defeated it--only to die in his sleep. Everything that could go wrong seemed to. But my mom never lost Faith. While I do not share her religion (Christianity), I do share her Faith. Life will challenge us, but never more than we can handle. That's because we CHOOSE those challenges. It's only through them can we truly grow and only through the trials can we learn to appreciate our rewards. And if we hold on long enough, things ALWAYS turn around. My Mom now has a brand new fridge, a new fence, even a new freezer (a bonus of sorts), and a car that was practically given to her. But she is only as happy now as she stayed during the bad times. She never lost Faith. I learn from her example almost every single day. What good would Gooberz have been if Linda only shared her joys and triumphs with us? It is only through her pain, her losses, her suffering, and her sorrow that we truly came to k-NOW her, Love her, understand her, and grow close to her. ------------------ "Man is the only animal that blushes...or needs to." Randall ~ If there is one thing that I have, that many people don't, is Faith & Hope. Yes, indeedy. Why do you think I named my little babygirl "Hope" Yes, I agree with you, we chose our difficulties.......and I've had quite several my life....I may not look very wise on the outside, but it's in there ~ (Nephthys getting wisdom from an Owl)~Anyhow~ The Pacific Gas & Electric finally hooked my Mom back up at 3 p.m. today! The 4th day! Sheist! And on a Sadder note ~ tonight on the News, on the California Coast, from Point Reyes to Monterey, (I'm right in the middle), they are finding hundreds of birds who are drenged in oil! They don't know where the oil came from - it is so sad that innocent wildlife have to suffer from human's errors! Argh! IP: Logged |

For Nephthys:Bring On The Rain by Jo Dee Messina (Duet with Tim McGraw) (Billy Montana/Helen Darling) Another day has almost come and gone Can't imagine what else could go wrong Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door A single battle lost but not the war ('cause) Tomorrow's another day And I'm thirsty anyway So bring on the rain It's almost like the hard times circle 'round A couple drops and they all start coming down Yeah, I might feel defeated, I might hang my head I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead Tomorrow's another day And I'm thirsty anyway So bring on the rain I'm not gonna let it get me down I'm not gonna cry And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight ------------------ "Man is the only animal that blushes...or needs to." Nepth~ That is wonderful to hear your mom has her electricity back Those poor birds It just DISGUSTS me the illfated liberties humans take with Nature I still say the phrase *Human Race* was ORIGINALLY *Human CARE* - but was somehow convoluted, like most spiritual truths, to program the masses to accept MAN'S METHODS of keeping the *bottom line black* ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |
