I've purchased three wristwatches over the course of my life. I bought them six years ago, four years ago, and today. The first one disappeared within days and I lost the second one within weeks. I personally think wristwatches remind people of mundane time too much, but I absolutely loved the gold quartz of the one I bought today, and will probably wear it until I find my personal gemstone.Wait a minute- I just looked down at both my arms and realized I'm not wearing it!!

Wristwatch free for 10 years now!!! I do keep a kitchen timer in my purse and desk, so that I can time my activities because I become way too absorbed. IP: Logged |

I never wore a wristwatch - until I had a *job* I don't still have a job, but I do still wear a watch, they come in handy when interacting with life ... and they are pretty ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

I don't! ....except on occasion when work catches me without it & insists that I wear one Aus....I don't need it, cause I can usually estimate to the minute anyway if I have to, but i really prefer to live my life doing what I do when I do it...as long as it gets done,(and done well) what's the problem??? I have to wear it for work but I don't wear it outside of work. Who cares what time it is? I don't like living life worrying about what time it is. (Unless it is for work, of course). although I must say I do like clocks. I have many clocks in my house. IP: Logged |

I never used to wear a watch (Don't like stuff on my wrists). Finally had to break down and wear one for work....wasn't happy about it until the B/F bought me a Titanium....super lightweight! Now I wear it more often but not all the time. Used to make a sand dial at the beach so I knew what time to turn over! Nepthy...I LOVE clocks too! Old ones...that you wind up with a huge key. I wore a watch until I met "eternal" and she re-minded me that I need not wear such an illusionary thing on my body. So I'm proud to say that for three years (i think it's been that long) I have not worn a watch. I either depend on the kindness of strangers, look around me for the "time" or I carry a silly little alarm clock in my bag and only look at it when I absolutely have to. Really, though, my stress level has gone down since not wearing the watch. I'm still early to everything, but that has more to do with wanting to please people than "time". Great topic! I own one wristwatch that I wear only in very rare instances, although I have no problem noting the "time," since I am also aware that it is an illusion. ------------------ "It is never too late to become what you might have been." George Eliot IP: Logged |

Funny Synchronisity ~ This morning, after I typed that, I FORGOT to wear my watch to work!!!!!!! The reason I need a watch for work is I have to log the time that I do some things. I have some neat clocks! A Coca Cola clock (shaped like the bottle, it opens up, plays the Coca Cola song, and a Polar Bear is revealed) A Taz's Diner clock that lights up, 50' s diner style (Warner Brothers) A Sand clock that when you turn, the colored sand inside makes a new design A Waterford Crystal clock (but the battery is dead and I am too lazy to ever remember to buy a new one!) A Water Clock with a Turtle that swims around and pulls a Sailboat on Top - The Sailboat says "Summer" A huge wall clock with Roman Numerals and Cherry Wood on the outside frame Ok, Ok, Ok, I know you're all sick of hearing about my Clocks............I'll stop IP: Logged |

I can't remember how long it has been since I wore a watch. I have clocks all over the house also, but none are set on the same time. But sometimes there is this 'window' where they all chime one right after the other and it sounds like a symphony. ------------------

Never worn a watch. Ever. Not even tried one on. I feel like I have an inner clock inside me; I have a pretty decent sense of time, and a watch seems like bad luck to me. I've lost all my watches over the years. When I was working in Manhattan, I wore one that I borrowed from my cousin, I've since given it back to her. Watches make the skin on my wrists itch IP: Logged |

I can't stand watches! ergh! no watches for me, we have clocks in our house.... and when i go out i don't want to be "Timed".When i got a reading (mayan horoscope) the lady told me that (as we know) the god/s were annoyed with us because we place to much emphasis on time.... and that we are on the wrong calender.....Also that they wanted people to start caring and looking out for each other and not placing so much emphasis on consumerism anyway love to all IP: Logged |

WoW... we have opinions here ranging from delightful love to disdainful hate ... intersting. I guess it all depends on how you view a watch. It can be seen as anything from a jailer to jewelry.I'm wondering tho... the people who never wear watches because they *keep time* - do you also *never* look at a clock? Cuz it's pretty much the same thing And, why should watch wearers be bothered to give the time when asked by someone that refuses to wear one? It reminds me of people that don't *really* smoke, or have *quit*, but still bumb a smoke off someone who does. ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

Well, unless you live in a cave or under a freakin' rock, sometimes you just have to look at a clock or a watch whether you like it or not. IP: Logged |

I always wore a watch - from the time I was 12 years old. Couldn't leave the house without it!Not long after my Mom died three years ago, I started having problems with my watch. It couldn't keep time. It would be fast, then slow, stop and start without reason. I had it fixed a couple of times but I still had problems. I gave up and bought a new watch. I kept having the same problems. I then re-membered that my maternal grandmother couldn't wear a watch for the same reasons. Something about her made all watches go "flukey" (sorry, technical term ). It seems I've developed the same trait. This trait also effects my personal computers at home and my computer at the office. I'm the only person on the network with a computer clock that never works.
