Has anyone read any of his books? I'm considering buying one out of curiosity but I'd like to get some opinions!------------------ we'll be together till the end of time and when you smile, red rose, it's just like blue sunshine... oh, we're ascending and we'll never die cause when we kiss, red rose, we're changing 6 to 9 ...it's revolution time when 6 turns into 9 IP: Logged |

For pretentious fun, see _Finnegan's Wake_.Eh, it may be an example of art taking itself too seriously, but I kinda like it. IP: Logged |

I'm reading Ulysses now What Carlo said... Although I should add that aside from the fact it is a "slow read", (time consuming in the way that you have to absorb it properly and may even have to do research as this author has a VERY unique style), it is a fulfilling undertaking. Let us know what you decide to read! IP: Logged |

Ulysses was one of Joyce's best works, and considered one of the 20th century's most influential books, in terms of artistic style and issues regarding revolution, consciousness, and being. To understand the essence of Ulysses, I would recommend reading A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man first, then Ulysses. It is relatively easier to read than the latter but you will gain some understanding on some of the themes and style that Joyce was employing on his most famous work. Have fun.IP: Logged |
