It was in the book! I've only read the first little bit of the Fellowship, and I remember it mentioned that Frodo's birthday was the same as Bilbo's, which was the 22nd of September. I'm not hallucinating! IP: Logged |

I think VA is right, but remember that Tolkien knew nothing about astrology. Maybe the astrological calendar was different back then?------------------ "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword." - Anonymous IP: Logged |

Hehe. Yay. So it's not just me. *wipes sweat off brow* I don't think the astrological calendar was "different" back then...I mean, that would sort of defeat the purpose of the accuracy *and* consistency of astrology... , so I guess we'll just assume that the original Frodo, free from the influence of Elijah Wood's dreamy Piscean eyes, was a Virgo. (Or would that make him a Libra? I'm not quite sure.) It's also interesting that him and Bilbo were both born on a "Master Number" date -- 22 -- which is connected with great karmic obligations, right? Plus the singular number is a 4, which is connected with hard karma as well -- I should know, I'm a 4 too. Hehe. IP: Logged |

Okay, here's my "take" on some of the LOTR characters: Frodo: Staying with the birthdate in the book, Libra/Virgo, but with Moon or Ascendant in Pisces...I see more Pisces than anything else. Sam: Cancer (the cook, and looks after Frodo), with a Scorpio Moon (very suspicious, first of Strider/Aragorn, then Gollum, and incredibly loyal to Frodo) Aragorn: Libra (he's GORGEOUS! And soft-spoken, charming to the ladies, yet the Cardinal leadership is obvious too); with strong Scorpio or Aries as well (brave and tireless warrior) Gandalf: I see him as a highly evolved Gemini. He has much knowledge and wisdom borne of experience, yet a sense of fun (remember the fireworks from the Fellowship of the Ring?). Maybe something in Scorpio too since he confronted and went into the pit with the Balrog, returning in the Two Towers transformed. Legolas: My daughter insists he is a Sagittarian because of his talents with the bow and arrow. I'm not sure, but I remember feeling glad that he was always there to help - - with no need for glory - - Virgo maybe? Gimli: He strikes me as Taurus; very down to earth, a lover of beautiful things (mines of Moria), and a tough, loyal little guy. Gollum: A Gemini-gone-wrong! Poor, schizophrenic wretch who lost his mind over his "precioussss" (something afflicted in Taurus or Scorpio too) Arwen: Could be Pisces with maybe a Cancer Moon. Willing to sacrifice her immortality for love, and keeps the homefires burning while her man is away? Eowyn: I think she's Aries. Attracted to Aragorn her opposite (if he's Libra) and not content to stay home but be involved in the fighting. Sauraman: Another Gemini-gone-bad. He used all his once-good wisdom and power for evil deeds. When watching Sauraman and Gandalf, I always see each a perfect example of the extremes of Gemini energies. (The fact that both actors who portray these 2 characters happen to be Gemini as well, helps, I'm sure.) lol Sauron: Yes...a Taurus at its worst. Galadriel: Virgo with Leo Moon? Just a guess. Elrond: Aquarius? A tough one for me. I know I missed a few, but this post has gotten way too long, lol. Any thoughts on the signs of Merry and Pippin? ------------------ Twin Lady IP: Logged |

I doubt Elrond is an Aqua...although to be fair he exhibits a few Aquarian qualities.actually it seems from everyones' observations here that Tolkein really wasnt tuned into creating Aquarian characters amd their mindset one bit! IP: Logged |

I think Eowyn is really more of a Virgo. She is beautiful, but described as very cold, iow the classic overworked Impatient with those stupid men for not letting her fight. IP: Logged |

As in any character we can see various signs qualities, I think we've done a good and funny exercise of review, haven't we? IP: Logged |

Whoa...there's certainly a lot of Sagittarian actors there But why did you say Orlando was a Cappy when his b-date said December 13? He should be a Sagittarian too, then...IP: Logged |

what?!? no scorps? how so very ...tame! loved the movie! a def second viewing is in my book! this was sent to me right after The Fellowship of The Ring. answer the questions and find out what character you are most like. http://www.lifesupportal.com/LOTR took it twice and still came out one and the same---legolas. twinlady, i would seem to agree with your daughter that he is a sag since am one myself.(barring quinnie's list, of course) yep, frodo's 'aquarianism' does show (a tad 'of his own' from the rest of his kinfolk) but he must have a strong pisces house or neptune in first house or pisces rising! and arwen as cancer must have a venus/libra rising. that should explain the match with aragorn. heh. eowyn as a sag sextiles aragorn's sun, am i right? her moon may be aries. methinks the man's got mars or uranus in sag. does a moon in sag ever get brooding? i'm interested in the saturn placements, though.
