I'm sure we all go through it...do you guys (or gals) get hose crazy looks when you ask someone their birth details? I bit my tongue last night as I was hanging out with a bunch of new people and really wanted to know their signs, b/c my friend teased me about wanting to kow what time he was born. Of course, he's born on a day that the Sun went from Virgo to Libra...and I can't help but think he's a Libra as it took me nearly 20 tried to get him to pick a time/place for us to meet. In the end, I had to pick it. Sorry, that was a tangent.Anyway...I'm just curious to hear how everyone deals with the "why are you asking me my birth time" stare.

"Uh, so, when's your birthday?" "Um...why do you wanna know?" "...just do. So...?" "Uh...XMonth, XDay." "Really...hmmm." "What? What?" "Oh, nothing, nothing..." "What?!?" "I said - nothing. I just wanted to know." >revel in your new air of mystery<Or, alternately...once I've known someone for a little while and can see that they're a lil' bit esoterically inclined...and there's a computer around...: "Hey, wanna see something cool?" "Yeah..." "OK, OK - this may seem a little weird, and I was sceptical at first - I actually started out trying to disprove this - but it's so accurate. And, I figure that it's actually unscientific to dismiss something just because of a perception, without testing it and re-testing it and then establishing its validity based on actual results, right?" "Yeah...*thinks*...yeah." "OK, so I need to know your date and place and exact time of birth - it needs to be exact, or it won't work." >And so the scene continues...I put in their info, feed back the given info to them, and their amazed and astounded that their traits could be so aptly described just given that information.< But, then, I don't mind being thought an odd ball. well, most people normally just tell me what their birthday is.Asking their birthtime, I only do that if they look like they'd be into this kind of stuff anyway IP: Logged |

I can't resist-I want to know as much as possible, as quickly as possible. So I always ask them their birth times right away. I am so proud of myself for not sking everyone in sight last night. I did ask one guy who ended up being a Pisces. But that's just because I knew he'd answer all of my questions b/c he was hitting on me. Oh Proxy-that conversation sounds strangely oh-so familiar!! haha Sometimes I find that if I tell someone they can have their whole chart made up with just the exact time of birth, they'll become interested. "When's ya birthday?"that's how I do it, and the girls always give it up I don't usually ask guys, yet when I do...those three words. Then it is up to you to know what that makes their Sun sign, or to go, "So...you're a...Taurus?", and the ice is broken and you can run your mouth about astrology now what's fun is when they answer not the date, they go "I'm a Taurus". You're in, and you know they are interested, so you can run your mouth about it, and they will too I don't ask for year. Some will give it, if not, just take the Sun, it's all you need for a now you will learn more when the Time is Right IP: Logged |

Oxy I know what you mean!!All the time I get looks, and the statement that makes me want to spit on them "Oh you believe that stuff/garbage/sh*t" Like Proxieme I love to prove to people I am right. And I constantly am amazing people about that! I always ask people their b-days or signs- my cab drivers everyone! What I really like to do is tell someone what they are before they tell me. That really surprises them. Course sometimes I am wrong, but I am getting there, not too shabby at that! Oxy we should be used to strange looks we are And I love like when Carlo says and they right off the bat know what's up and talk about the signs. ------------------ food is the only art that nourishes! I rarely do. In fact, Randall tells more people I'm an astrologer than I do. I'm kind of quiet and never tell anyone, unless they peak my curiosity in some way. Then, I just ask them directly, "When is your birthday?" Even then, I don't usually tell them I'm an astrologer. Unless they make fun of astrology in a snotty way, that is. Then I go back armed with information about them, that not even their best friends know. It lets them know in no uncertain terms that I'm a REAL astrologer and astrology is NOT a joke. Have you ever had so much information about a person that they sat and chain smoked from nervousness it caused them and swore you must've had them followed for years? Sometimes, if I want their time of birth and they aren't open with me, I'll somehow bring the conversation around to being a morning person. They'll either say they are or aren't. If they say they're also a morning person, I'll ask if they were born early in the morning. They usually answer with their birth time. ------------------ To fall in Love, is to rise. . . . ~Upendra

I've tried that tactic, Auriel! Only, sometimes I become so darn impatient that I'll just come out with it. If they do know it, I plug it in once I get home. A lot of people get snotty about Astrology. And Randall is proud of you. Ah, c'est l'amour... And I'd love to meet someone who would peg me like they've known me for years. I'd risk the chain smoking! IP: Logged |

I went to a picnic in Central Park one evening last summer and met a couple of Sag guys who were all interested in atsrology. Then, one of them had a party a month or so later and I went and this Aquarian guy (who looked EXACTLY-practically-like an Aquarian guy I er, knew in my first college) came up to me and was like "So you're an Aquarius?" I was like "yeah?" Then he proceeded to tell me how happy he was when he was told that an Aquarius who's interested in astrology would be coming to the party. Unfortunately, the party was me, an old professor and a bunch of guys who didn;t swing my way. but hey, i had a lot of fun and i was soo happy that someone was actually curious about *my* sign.Ok, Fajita and NewEvil (that's your new name), I know you guys replied, but the posts haven't loadedyet. Once they do, I'll be sure to respond. IP: Logged |

Now I see your posts...I think Auriel meant that she will mention morning/evening to lure the subject into divulging his/her birth time. I was born at noon. IP: Logged |

I've never thought of it that way before, Oxychick, but Randall just confirmed what you said. You know, I don't think I have your birth data, Oxychick....not that I could even figure out the relationship between your Sun and Moon with this raging sinus infection I have, but maybe one day....when you least expect it. ------------------ To fall in Love, is to rise. . . . ~Upendra IP: Logged |

Hey, it's cool. I worked ~30 hours/week while going to school full-time (and school and work in the summers too-no breaks) for my last couple of years of college. I wasn't ever able to wake up late. Wish I could have today. This is the Free for All forum anyway. Auriel, in case you were asking (don;t want to be presumptuous ), my info is: Your sinus infection is first and foremost. IP: Logged |
