Hi Everyone,I haven't been around much the last few days because I'd been busy packing up my whole apartment and putting everything in storage in preparation for going off to EAT for the next couple weeks. No, not that kind of eating! I'm heading off to the mountainous coastal forest of northern California to attend the Earth Activist Training! Yay! Right now I'm getting my little Q settled in with his Nauni and Poppa and then I'm off! I just wanted to say that I'll miss all of you lovely knowflakes! Even you Lost Leo! Just kidding. (BTW, LL, I like your little chart in the Global Unity forum. Pretty accurate for the most part, though I do tend to wax conservative on a few issues, believe it or not.) ah I digress.. Wish me well, I'll see you all in two weeks..take care of yers-elves!

Well, I'm back. I'm sort of having serious woods withdrawls though. I knew I was growing weary of the urban life but now that I've just finished two weeks living in the forest with 26 people of very similar interests and passions as mine, being back in the world of ass-fault and commercials makes me want to snatch my little Q away and run for the hills. I learned some incredible stuff about sustainable living and saw it in action first hand and I will share some of that with interested knowflakes but right now I'm working on difficult transitioning. Needless to say, the experience was a life changing event for me. I'm pretty sure I'm moving to rural norther California for a while, not permanently, but long enought to continue my studies. aww. Thanks for the interest, N_wEvil. Sustainable urban living? It's entirely within the scope of possibility but not without some large changes. I'm going to start a new thread for Permaculture outlining the ethics and principals of it since I think that is really the best place to start. I'm reluctant to put it in the Global Unity forum due to the underlying hostility that never seems to go away around there but since Permaculture is literally about building sustainable global unity, I think that is where I must put it. Here I go.. IP: Logged |
