Hi Everyone We just returned from the Dr. and this is what we learned: All the bloodwork came back normal...no indication of cancer. Thank God! The cat scan, by the looks of the tumor, the Dr. says does NOT appear to be a malignancy. The size of this thing growing inside my daughter is the size of a cantaloupe! It must come out of course. The Dr. today is making an appointment for us to see still another specialist (gynecological oncologist) who can remove the tumor, do a pathology...then IF God forbid...something is found, will be able to immediately do the next stage of checking the surrounding organs and nodes, etc., to see if it has spread. This way, she'll have one operation only...and hopefully of course the path. will show no cancer. Though the Dr. we saw today emphasized that the only way we'll know for sure that it's benign will be from the pathology testing of the tumor once it's removed...he also said that he has seen this type of problem before and based on the blood and cat scan results, he doubts that it's cancer. THANK GOD again!! We're not out of the woods yet...but things are looking up. Thank-you all for your concern and prayers; it's meant so much to us, I can't tell you. I'll let you know when the surgery is scheduled so the prayers and healing light can continue to be sent her way. In the meantime, bless you all! Love, Twin Lady IP: Logged |

Hi all Well, Melinda saw the Dr. again this morning and had her abdomen measured to see if there was any increase in size since last week; I am happy to say there is no change. She and I have been ah...arguing about this since he told us the risks of delaying surgery till mid-June when school lets out...me wanting her to have the growth removed now and her wanting to wait so she can finish out the year. We agreed finally that once she spoke to the Dr. privately and he answered her questions we would go from there depending on what he said. Before leaving the room I expressed my feelings about it and he assured me that if he thought she were being foolish by waiting he would insist she have it done now, nomatter what she wanted, and that was good enough for me. She will continue to get checked (measured and questioned about any problems that develop) weekly, and as long as she's feeling well and there are no changes, we will wait till after June 13th. Now, all I have to do is hold on to my sanity in the meantime. Arggghh...this Mothering thing is so hard sometimes! Please, keep on praying and sending her light; it's working. Thank you all, and bless you. I'll keep you posted. IP: Logged |

Dear TwinLady:I am so happy to hear that the growth is benign! It is nice to know that your Dr. is willing to respect your daughter's wishes. I will continue to pray for your daughter's health and your sanity, Mommy!! Just a word of advice (you know, the worst vice!), in Star Signs it says to make sure that the Moon is not in the zodiac sign which rules whatever body part is being operated upon at the time of operation. I know that the reproductive organs are ruled by the sign of Scorpio, but I'm not sure what rules the abdomen in general. Hopefully, someone here does. ------------------ It is never too late to be what you might have been -- George Eliot IP: Logged |
