1scorp "You trying to say that "ay" (spelling??) Canadian thing, right?!I don't know what the heck I was trying to say...I was looped on the punch at the time! But that would be good guess, as I "may" tend to say that alot when intoxicated. Funny thing is, we make fun ourselves for that just as much as everyone else does! (oohh, my imaginary hangover!!)

To the beach Mar y sol? You`ll be looking fit for the plane ride 1Scorp, yer right, minus the mangos cuz that leaves more room for punch & I`ll be needing a good snort to just get to the runway. juniperb IP: Logged |

OOOOhhh, I just had a vision of all the knowflakes toodling up to the FEA ticket counter buck naked , except for flip flops and assorted hair accouterments; each clutching recipes, ingredients and asprin. Lo and behold, there stands Jwhop, fully clothed, grinning sheepishly, waving TWA tickets cuz he forgot to make the FEA reservations . Oh Jwhop, you wouldn`t, would you ? juniperb IP: Logged |

Asian Flavored BBQ I've had Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese styles of pork and beef bbq. Mexican Flavored BBQ Carnitas on corn tortillas, yumm. Thinly sliced beef seasoned with lime juice, garlic, salt, and pepper before it's grilled. IP: Logged |

Sorry Mar y Sol, FEA nixed the apron. Said it would make the other passengers and flight crew nervous to think you might be concealing something. OK Oxy, got a window seat in the sun for you, plus as many hot toddies as you need to keep your temperature up. Sounds like you and Lioneye are ready to party 1scorp. Yeah, leave the mangos out of the punch till you get to FL. We grow the good one's here anyway. Oh yea of little faith juniperb. I would never hand you off to TWA. It's pretty much a done deal with FEA anyway but just in case, I have a backup plan with Virgin Airlines. Puritanical bunch, wanted you all to take physicals but I bargained hard, vouched for you all and got them to agree to a signed certificate of authenticity instead. Guess they don't call themselves Virgin Airlines for nothing. So----------let's party jwhop IP: Logged |

Here's recipe for a simple but delicious macaroni salad...always a hit when I make it. I end up having to write the ingredience down for people all the time.No exact measurements needed, these are just guidelines... but basically, I just wing it. It's not rocket science! (like Emeral always says) Ingredience About 4 cups elbow macaroni Half a brick or so of medium chedder cheese A pack of cooked ham lunchean meat (I use a bit more than a half of a LARGE pack) 1 & 1/2 cups or so of frozen baby peas 6 or so green onions Real mayonaise Cook the macaroni, making sure not to overcook, drain and fill pot with cold water, drain & fill again and let it sit. (want it to be absolutely cold) Do the same for the peas Dice into tiny squares the cheddar cheese and the ham. Chop up the onion quite small. Mix all ingredience together and add the mayonaise...mix well. (best to mix with a wooden spoon so as to not mash up the ingredience) Add some black pepper and paprika if you like. I prefer Green Giant Baby Peas, and Best Foods Real Maynonaise, but I don't know if those brands are available everywhere. Try this out and you'll see...it'll be a hit! You may have to replenish the mayo every so often, as the macaroni tends to absorb it. P.S. I like to add a tablespoon or so of sugar to the water that I boil the peas in because it really enhances the natural flavor. They just explode with flavor when you bite into them.

Hi partners in flight and cooking, The trip to the beach was ok, but it rained every night, I did some gardening and sunburned my back. Juniperb, I will have to sunbathe in the nude to look good on the plane. Ok Jwhop, I won't take the apron on board. Thought this might be helpful for the BBQers: Mosquito Remedy Pass this on to anyone who likes sitting out in the evening or when they're having a cook out. So you don't like those pesky mosquitoes, especially now that they have the potential to carry the West Nile Virus? Here's a tip that was given at a recent gardening forum. Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a couple drops of Lemon Fresh Joy dish detergent. Set the dish on your porch, patio, or other outdoor area. Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate color, or what, but mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh Joy/water mixture, and usually within about 10 feet of the
plate. Check this out---it works just super! May seem trivial, but it may help control mosquitoes around your home, especially in the South and elsewhere where the West Nile virus is reaching epidemic proportions in mosquitoes, birds, and humans. Haven`t tried it yet, but it`s worth a shot! juniperb IP: Logged |

Thank you Juni! I live on a lake... so that will help me out! They've already found the virus in some birds around here this year. IP: Logged |

I think that only effects the very old or very young, isn't that right? It's not dangerous to healthy normal people, it's just a flu for them. But it is still dangerous to people we love, so please be extra careful everybody. IP: Logged |
