Y'all come and be sure to pack a rowboat because it's been raining for 4 days---and nights too. We're going after the record of 40 days and 40 nights Think you would be impressed by the lightning displays over the pitch black Gulf of Mexico. Ummm, pack shades. jwhop IP: Logged |

Definitely impressive! I'm starting to feel like I went back to England and just missed the plain ride. It's been pouring here too-I even saw MOSS on the trees on the way to the subway. jwhop, it poured at my brother's wedding in Miami too. But they had some delicious food. a humongous wok-type-thing of paella (yum), among some other stuff. Anyway, just put up a tent for us and we'll all be fine. IP: Logged |

Oxy that tent statement.I have to share this one with you... being an Aqua you "might" appreciate it. Went to my Aqua g/f's a couple of weeks for a party. She lives deep in the country (out in the woods). She had people camping out for the night... smart really, no drinking and driving. Anyway... her, I and a few others were still up while everyone else crashed... well... she gets this idea to pull out some fireworks... Bottle rockets shooting over these peoples tents! Someone awoke the next morning with holes in his tent! Where the sparks dropped on them... Then she gets mad at some guy for saying a few curse words a little to loud! It was hilarous... IP: Logged |

OxyIt's raining all over the land, even in "Neither Here Nor There" Well, I feel better already knowing I'm not the only one in the barrel They're evacuating people downstream of Lake Manatee. One of the floodgate doors stuck and they can't get it open so water is pouring into the lake at the rate of 8,000 cubic feet per second. Not exactly the best time to find out there's a glitch in the emergency equipment. Hey Oxy, you might be interested to know that the alternate definition for "tenting" is "parasailing"----in Florida, that is. But, I'm game if you are Glad to hear the rain didn't dampen the spirits at your brothers wedding. I've never had "paella". After looking at the recipe, it sounds delicious---something in there for everyone Funny story 1scorp and it sounds exactly like the Aquarius idea of fun. Probably just wanted to see who was in whose tent when those bottle rockets started going off and take note of their state of dress. jwhop IP: Logged |

jwhop (now, is it "J.W. Hop" or "J-Whop"?), sounds chaotic down there! How far is the evacuation from you? The sun is shining here now...briefly, I'll wager. typical aquarian fun?? I haven't a clue what you're talking about. 1scorp-Yeah, I think I can see the logic behind such sudden bursts of zaniness. Cursing doesn't bother me in the least though. Did the guy ever find out who was responsible?

Darn it, I tried to post a picture of the paella, but it wouldn't work. I have the picture up on ofoto, so maybe that's why. [edit] Here ya go! Picture of the paella at my brother's wedding (funny, both of my brothers ended up marrying Cancer girls): Many thanks to N_w for hosting the pic for me. Of course, you'd have to be a seafood junkie like me to love this dish. IP: Logged |

jwhop, J.W. Hop, J-Whop, jwop Apparently all those plus a few from off the sites that it's probably unprofitable to go into now. Evacuation is in progress south, across the Bay of Tampa---25 miles or so, nearer to Sarasota. They've had up to 20 inches of rainfall last week and it's pouring again today I have Boca Ciega Bay on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. Since they're connected, there's an almost infinite capacity to absorb run-off. Clueless, right! OK, scratch "typical" Hi Mar y Glad you're sacrificing the apron on the alter of fun, food and spirits. jwhop IP: Logged |

Your tickets were returned to Florida Exhibitionists Airlines stamped undeliverable. Something about there being no known postal zip code for "Neither Here Nor There". They're being held at the FEA main desk for pickup so just pick them up and proceed to the assigned gate where you will be given your boarding pass---if you're properly attired. jwhop IP: Logged |

Tried to BBQ chicken the other night...burnt it. You HAVE to make sure it's thoroughly cooked, but in doing so, you're charring the outside! What's the secret??? IP: Logged |

Shift the coals around to move them lower, and a little father away from the meat sitting on the grill. Play around with the temperature.IP: Logged |

Hmmm, it works best if you follow the recipe Lioneye. Hard to cook barbecued chicken on the barbecue because the sugar in the sauce burns before the chicken is cooked. Try cooking the chicken in the sauce first, then finish it on the barbecue, basting with the reserved sauce. It tastes better that way anyhow because the chicken absorbs the sauce flavor while it's cooking on the stove. Either that or-----turn off one of your burners on the barbecue and place the chicken over the burner that's off, as far from the heat as possible, baste with sauce and turn frequently. Be sure to keep the cover closed between bastings. That's a lot more work. jwhop IP: Logged |
