It is a stoke of luck that I saw this string! I rarely get a chance to come to this forum, and I NEVER expect to see a post for me in here!

I have not heard "violet flame" in quite some time, and I am not sure I am the one to speak with about this. Aselzion may be a better source. I do "know" a little though and I believe there a few different views on it ... let me check a couple of sources ...

In, A Treatise on White Magic by Alice Bailey, when talking about the use or visualization of the violet flame, she warns - "The reason for caution lies in the etheric vehicle, which responds most violently to the colour violet."

May I ask, what is your interest in invoking this energy? What are you learning about it?

Here is an interesting snippet from some old Summit Lighthouse literature (anyone remember The Summit Lighthouse?) ---

Well I am not exzactly sure what my interest is yet since the subject is very new to me.I have learned that it is a process that could help you send out your positive power thoughts more effictively in helping to heal others and the world.(Not physically,but sending out thoughts of love is a pretty poserful thing). I have also learned that it was a method to raise one's awareness level by negating the lead of negative human energy into the gold of the positive divine energy.(Mankind had taken this too literaly as to tranform lead into gold and so on. But I also heard it was a form of Alchemy(which I am not ready for)so I figured I should ask around about it.
I was really hoping it would help me to make my positive thought power a little more effective, ie:healing thoughts to my friends and mys-elf(at first, then I was hoping it would help me with a little cleansing process I am starting with mys-elf.As in me trying to quit smoking and hopefully help me erase alot of negative thoughts I have.I'd like to raise my awareness levels too. the trouble is I have to do things very slowly and systematically(Virgo here)since I am very suseseptable to powerful forces.I do have my own strenght and opinions but it is easy for me to get caught up in mystical and powerful ideas, and I just don't want to head into things the wrong way.

Well in my experience the violet flame is invoked to transmute and heal, this is true.

Like all other forms of meditation, it involves a visualization of the violet flame blazing about your aura, surrounding you in violet light... this is to be pictured over your head and below your feet as well.

Some people like to see the flame before them, and then imagine walking into it, but I think you must use whatever imagery is strongest for you.

Viloet is a healing ray on a spiritual level, it has the ability to transmute negative energy as you have said. It is also a very high vibration... and as such, I would first make sure that all of my chakras were clear, the colors pure, and any cords or attachments cleansed prior to invoking violet.

In terms of sending healing thoughts out to the world.. beautiful. In terms of sending them out to humanity in a general way... wonderful. However, I would probably advise against sending this energy out to heal specific individuals... unless of course they have asked you for help.

I have been taught that healing is not something that we are to try to "impose upon" anyone unless we have been asked specifically to intervene. I have been given to understand that though we can do something, does not necessarily mean that we should do it. It has a lot to do with the Soul's Free Will Choice, and that should never be tampered with unless directly requested to do so. To violate that Free Will borders on black magic, despite your best intentions.

In that case, I would say, pray for the specific individual, but avoid meddling!
