i am really enjoying 'hail to the thief' lately. it is just perfect. i touched on another thread about how we are feeling (in astro) about how every time i get the new radiohead album, it totally fits my philosophical/emotional state of mind. for example 'amnesiac' was really tortured, and i was back then too. this album is sublime, and thats how im feeling now. its deep, its abstract, its soothing, its got a lot of inner peace in it. its just marvellous. i daresay they are my favorate band, including solo artists. i do so love a lot of others, like tori amos, beck, some alt rockish stuff, myriads of electronica, etc etc but i swear, nothing touches me like radiohead. i just understand this music so much. its like how i tune into the matrix movies. radiohead also makes me feel like ive come home. i am so typical of my generation, lol. the technokids that grew up with ataris etc.. gah babble babble... i was on my way to bed and just wanted to post this before i forgot, so im not at my most intellectually able right now IP: Logged |

Nah, I love 'em too...but wouldn't claim them as a fave. Actually, my tastes are so eclectic I can't claim anything as a fave...from Cowboy Junkies to Nick Drake to Throwing Muses to Leonard Cohen to Morphine to Dead Can Dance to Cocteau Twins (loooove 'em) to Elvis (heck, both of 'em) to Zombie (Rob/White) to Bach to cool celtic music to American Music Club to David Sylvian to (the beloved)Jeff Buckley ....ad infinitum. And I'm not ashamed to say that I love Bono and would be glad to perform the art that creates babies with him, even if I don't care to actually carry anyone's baby. I'd do the same for Buckley too, if he weren't, you know, dead and stuff. IP: Logged |

Wow, trillian!! You mean, you would carry Bono's or Jeff's baby? Actually when their (Radiohead's) first album was released (was it...back in '93?) I bought it and they weren't that big yet (certainly not in Holland). I performed 'Creep' on a talent show in that year and...I won! Yipee! I love the vocalist! He is wonderfully awesome! I don't know if I adore their music anymore though. IP: Logged |

trill, you made me laugh, that line 'if he werent, you know, dead and stuff'. i feel awful but it was so funny! i am a big fan of black humor. i do so have a tender spot in my heart for jeff though. i have a live recording he did of 'hallelujah' and it makes me tear up, the quality of his voice.i like a lot of what you like. i just... theres something about rh that really taps into me. im funny about music. i can listen to it and do little else, then for months i cant seem to listen to it at all. i also go through phases. like, at one point in life (long ago before it became a lil trendy) i was all about goth. also punk. then it moved onto university radio type stuff. then industrial. then techno. bla bla etc. generally its all about alternative though. never was a big fan of the radio, and for some reason country really offends me. no rhyme nor reason to it, i just have a very extreme reaction to country, lol. i feel i offend people with my opinions of country, but i dont mean its not ok for them, i just cannot stand it one bit. sylven, that is so cool! i recorded myself singing creep once i have it around somewhere, i dunno where though. i had a few mp3s of myself and ive misplaced them somewhere. im sure they are still around. im glad you won and not surprised you might enjoy rh's latest... its really quite amazing. i love thom yorke too! ugh theres something about him that i just die every time he sings a line! ------------------ where i end and you begin there's a gap in between there's a gap where we meet where i end and you begin and i'm sorry for us the dinosaurs roam the earth the sky turns green where i end and you begin i am up in the clouds i am up in the clouds and i can't and i can't come down IP: Logged |

hi ana! yeah, radiohead is pretty cool. i haven't heard the new stuff yet, but i really like "paranoid android" and "karma police" i actually haven't gotten around to buying any new cds, but if i did, i'd pick the new jane's addiction and justin timberlake. i know what some of ya might be thinking. i hated nsync and all those other boy groups, but his solo stuff is pretty cool i think. kinda reminds me of a young michael jackson. anyway, i am also totally stoked about the new blink-182 cd comin out this fall. i dunno what it is i like about them, but they partly inspired me to pick up guitar. they have some pretty catchy songs, and they are fun to play. my all time favorite band though, would have to be silverchair. i've liked them for about 5 or 6 years now, they are killer. they really got me through some hard times, and i think if you like radiohead or anything like that, you should check them out if you haven't already.IP: Logged |

Dorkus, don't tell me Justin has been a member of one of those boy bands?????? ???? If so, I didn't know that! Why did nobody inform me of such important info? Who cares, if it rocks it rocks. If you can shake your body and move your hips all is COOL! Yep, I love dancin', I wish I was a dancer but I guess I have been in a former life. I am sure of it! So now it is time for other things such as....uuuh....another smiley perhaps? Anyway, Justin's music makes my body go rocking as well Jane's addiction is cool! I love alternative!!!! D'you know what I really like lately? The band Dump. The vocalist of Yo la Tengo. I think they're só, só cool! Well, anyway, that was what I wanted to come and ramble about. Peace to all! It is a new day and new chances for everyone. Gosh, better than yesterday, I was só depressed and why? My, I wish I knew. Luckily my Beloved's hand on my back helps instantly! And after a nice hot barbeque (with soja meat for me ) all was well! Ok, now I'll stop! IP: Logged |

haha! i freak people out so much because i am so loving. i try to explain what i mean, but i think that in the translation i dont do so well! lol!what i mean is this. as a general rule, i 'love' everyone in an idealistic way. unless they are as hitler, you know? anyway, i just love people. certain people i connect very strongly with or something within them makes my soul feel warm, like we have a mutual sympathy of a sort. with me so far? anyway these are the people who i say i have a 'happy you exist' crush i dont mean anything sexual or romantic, i just love people. i am in love with people really, as they are a constant source of delight and inspiration again though, its not sexual or romantic does that make sense? i try to be careful when i am so loving and gushy to people so they dont get scared i am trying to pick them up when i first got to this forum i think i might have scared juni that way, lol! but i meant nothing of the sort, just that her soul was beautiful and again, was like a 'happy you are alive' crush. you see? nothing to fear, just some free faery luuuuvs. *giggles and hopes she is understood* ~faery

Dorkus, Yep, Dump! Gotta luv it Ana, I want to pick you up, I got a really nice car (pronounce in Aussie accent)! I was laughing (in a sweet way) the way you explain yourself and want all to be clear for everyone all the time. That's so sweet. Venus sure doesn't want to create issues! I know, my Gem is só incredibly safe and wants to avoid every little thing that seems it might become an issue (of course except when he needs to speak up). He has Venus on the Ascendant. But I got it all along Ana. I am the same way. I can tell girls they look hot or if they are wearing a great shirt and all that stuff. And it's true that some get red or feel blushy while all I really mean is 'friends' and love for everyone. Of course I do the same with men and boy, I am not even going to start on that one. I don't mean anything by it. Yep, yep, yep, I só get what you mean! So when is our date? Can we take Dorkus too? Gosh....I hope now I didn't offend anyone or writing things I shouldn't with my big mouth. Ah well, bugger! IP: Logged |

Ow Ana , is the pic already in? I'd love to post pics of me when I was a punk but haven't got a scanner. Maybe I'll do it at Mom and Dad's one time! How about Foo fighters or Unsung by Helmet?! That's the coolest to hear loud in the car! Shame we cannot put links of songs in here as we do with pics. Anyway, yep, I love my mellow, dreamy, sweet music too but those kick ass ones keep us say:"YEAH, we are here and alive!" I just looked into Gem's playlist and yep all Radiohead's albums are there! Oh this one is nice. Gem just tells me...Bugatti Veyron has 1001 Hp (oh my God). And they did that on purpose because of '1001 nights', the fairytale. Because buying or owning something like that Bugatti is so dreamlike, such a fairytale. Aha, that's a nice one. IP: Logged |
