Hi purplezen,I like the ideas and results it produces, but there's something in the way its principles are expressed in the acquisition of Eastern objects that bothers me. I mean, energy flows, sure, and opened up and artfully-arranged spaces do enhance that flow, but do people have to clean out their local Asian gift shops in order to have the "right" objects in their home? I can't believe that other cultures don't have appropriate teachings, cultural artifacts and power objects that could achieve the same goals in a different way. I smell a little cultural snobbery and lots of capitalism in this aspect of Feng Shui, unfortunately. The art is fine, but the capitalism is highly suspicious!! cheers, Lunargirl IP: Logged |
