Is it okay to wear black to a wedding?A good friend of mine from 7th grade is getting married next month. I found this gorgeous black evening gown I want to wear, but don't know if black is okay at weddings. Here is the dress in case anyone is curious:

Gorgeous dress!! Woohoo!I think black is fine, my best friend and I attended an upscale wedding a year ago, she wore a beautiful black cocktail dress, and she was not the only one. Black is beautiful!  I'm not one for too much convention anyway.  IP: Logged |

I'm not sure about how appropriate black is at a wedding. Sorry I couldn't help on that one. However... that is a beautiful dress!! Good taste my friend! I know one Aries chick that would look great in it  IP: Logged |

Hehe, I just spoke with a Libran co-worker  Aka, part-time wedding planner  a) There are no real, hard rules about colors. b) Check the times on the invitation. If it's at night, then it's more formal than an afternoon wedding. Traditionally, one wears a longer dress at night. Aries Gal mystified about weddings  IP: Logged |

Hot dress!! Sometimes a wrap, and touch of colour, makes a big difference to the total presentation. A colourful shawl/serape to wear during the service might be enough. Is it one of those "hat" weddings, or is it SF funkay? The point about AM/PM weddings is a good one, too. If I were you I'd ask your friend. She'll either think it's great, or not.
