But what if you rotate between a few?Sleeping on one's side with legs outstretched and arms down in what Idzikowski refers to as the log, indicates a social, easy-going personality. But if the arms are outstretched in the yearner position, the person tends to be more suspicious. The freefall, flat on the tummy with the hands at the sides of the head, is the most unusual position. Only 6.5 percent of people prefer it and they are usually brash and gregarious. May be reasoning in all those comments I get "did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed"? IP: Logged |

What if you're a chronic flipper? Side, back, other side, stomache, cocooning in the blanket from all the turning, etc.I always wake up on my side though, with one hand under my pillow. IP: Logged |

Hmmm, they really didn't detail many positions.I usually sleep on my stomach with one leg kind of pulled up (like the picture of the Hanged Man Tarot card) and the other leg straight. I will be face first into the pillow (with a little breathing hole) and have my arms outstretched or my hands flat out near my head. I also like it pitch black in my room. Every now and then I wake up in a semi-side position with my hands outstretched (I guess like the yearner thing. LOL) Weird stuff. IP: Logged |

the idiosyncracies of individuals' sleep positions or someone's evil take on my title... either way... All I know is I'm hot-blooded so the bed HAS to be cold and no blankets or clothes... just a single light sheet... and I fall asleep on my left side facing to TV... I always wakeup up on my stomach... Although I heard it's VERY bad to fall asleep on your left-side because it's your Moon side... My Yoga instructor told me that we should be falling asleep on our right-side cause it's our Sun side... go figure... No matter what side I fall asleep on... the corresponding hand is under the pillow... Hands always under the pillow! Quite often I find it easier to sleep when I tightly wrap my right arm around a pillow... IP: Logged |

I use to know this couple (Libra man, Leo woman), and the guy couldn't fall asleep unless he was cupping one of her "cheechka's" (i.e. boobs) in his hand Isn't that funny? He was an oil truck driver and he had to work crazy shifts, so sometimes he would have to go to sleep at like 6:00 pm or so, and she always had to go lay with him for a while until he fell asleep that way. It was so cute. (they were in their 40's and had been married for 20 somewhat years already) IP: Logged |

I'm with a lot of you folks, I'm a sloppy sleeper, beginning on one side, then switching to other side or back. And my patterns have changed over the years, when I was younger I often slept on my stomach, which I rarely do now. Well, I sometimes sleep semi- on my stomach! And about 10 years ago, for some reason, I too started to clutch a pillow in my arms to fall asleep. No clue as to why.Dunno, but I think the article makes things over simplistic. Interesting, though! IP: Logged |

Just a thought, sleeping on your left side as opposed to right? I think this is more realistic than spiritual because your heart is toward your left side, and it pumps more efficiently when you are on your right. I guess spiritually, it has something to do with chakras as well. I am the stupidest sleeper.... I usually end up on my back, with my knees bent, right in the air.. I don't know what holds them up, maybe I have a deal with gravity when I sleep. While I'm there, I have this stupid habit that I have always had. I ball a tissue up in my hand for comfort. Sometimes when I wake up the next morning I am still holding it! ( I don't know where the others go though, maybe with the socks I lose in the dryer??IP: Logged |

It seems I do not make the survey! I sleep on my back, feet together, arms folded with hands crossed upon my chest, and usually with the sheet pulled up over my nose. My wife says I look like a mummy, or like I am laying in a casket. IP: Logged |

Hi Ra! I sleep exactly the same way as Pidua ... and funny thing is I have always associated it with the "Hangman" too. But on occasion I have woken up exactly like Ra, on my back with my arms crossed in front of me like a mummy. When I wake up like that it always freaks me out though because I wake up with that "where am I, what day is it, where have I been" feeling. It's very unsettling but has only happpened a few times. LOL...Heidi, that is cool. I sometimes like to sleep on my back too,but more often it's in the HM position.Lost Leo, The other reason for sleeping on the right side has to do with the heart. Since your heart is on the left you want your right side down to reduce the pressure from the weight of the lungs and body. Do you sleep on the left or right hand side of the bed? My Leo guy always has to sleep on the right side and I usually sleep on the left side if someone is next to me. If no one is around I have been known to take up the whole bed. IP: Logged |

LOL.. you are too cool. Okay here it is: I like your answer...between your woman and the door. Is that to prevent her from escaping - sounds like something a man would do if he knew he was with a Sag. LOL IP: Logged |

Escaping... LOLNo see if I'm trying to keep her from escaping I HIDE HER CLOTHES as were getting into it... Then when she wakes up she has to walk round naked all morning... just great! *** learned the hiding clothes trick from a Scorp buddy of mine...lol But seriously, it was more for the "If something comes thru that door I'm in the middle of the two" I know, sounds gay and sappy...but whateva! Lost Leo, I am seeing more and more Leo in you. It's that kind of "take charge" kind of thing. At any rate, no one needs to hide my clothes. If it's done right, I will just slip off into a nice sleep and walk around naked anyway. I think it is very sweet and protective to guard the door against things that go "bump" in the night. Have you ever used purple plates Wych? I've found they can help falling into and maintaing sleep. I think the survey sounds stupid as it does seem more like an astrology thing. I first sleep left (usually spooning my GF), then flip right and I'm out. I never remember how I wake up. Now the astro thing. I think the pattern (or routine) is my Virgo moon, always sleeping near the OPEN window (even in winter) is my gem sun (for the escape factor and air), and awaking forgetfully is my sag rising Dean/o. ------------------ Love and Light to aLL My numerology program according to "Star Signs" by LG. I used to sleep in the "mummy" position for years. Now this last year I have suddenly changed into sleeping in a more of a "tied-down" kind of position!?!My arms over my head crossing at the wrists and my left foot over the other. My hubby is a Leo but after he had been sleeping badly for the first year we lived together, he admitted he felt more safe if I slept between him and the door Sleep tight, Starlit IP: Logged |

Now, I am sorry to get logical on this thread, but Starlit ~ I am concerned for your position. I do this too sometimes, but I was told to stop. Because, when you cross at the ankles and wrists, it limits the blood supplied to the limbs and therefore is unhealthy, especially in sleep, as your body needs to repair itself, and focuses blood more directly to the areas that need it- less to the extremities. It is like crossing your legs when you sit, Sure, it looks sexy, but eventually you can get hip dysplasia and varicose veins etc... sorry to make you self conscious, but like the left side/heart thing, it is good to know! Oh, and by the way, I am intrigued you likened it to being tied down... RRROOOOWWWWWRRRRR!!!!! Sexy SwedishIP: Logged |

You make me blush Pixel Like you said it can't be healthy sleeping this way. The way I began to notice my unusual position was because I started to wake up with no blood or strength in my arms during the night. Very bad when the baby wakes up from a nightmare and not being able to get my arms and hands to function.... Starlit IP: Logged |
