Hi Proxieme I'm not saying it isn't a good book...just that if you're going through a square or oppostion (as an example) from one of these planets after reading the book's interpretation it can make you feel Can't remember right now which transit I was going through but I read the book and then put it away thinking how depressing is this transit going to be, I don't want to read any more. I told a friend of mine and she apparently felt the same way and had actually thrown the book away some time ago Sue IP: Logged |

I haven't read that myself, but have read other fatalistic approaches to Astrology. And I just don't like 'em. Too antiquated. Some of our times of greatest growth are during 'tough' transits. A book I would recommend is "Relationships and Life Cycles" by Stephen Arroyo. It's easy to use and understand, for the non-astrologer who has some understanding of Astrology, like me!

While I don't endorse suffering, pain and discomfort are good teachers. Many of us would still be noodling in diapers and sucking our thumbs if we hadn't had some metaphorical kick in the wazoo to make us grow. Moi, I try to change _before_ the big planetary bruisers show up... pursuing growth is the only way to ride its wave with any grace. There ya go, proxieme... a surfer analogy is better than an abusive angry indifferent god analogy anyday. Also, remember that outer planetary transits, especially Pluto, are more gradual than anything else... they plant a seed, or germinate a seed previously planted, that takes time to come to fruition. They help us become who we are really meant to be, in all our lightness and darkness, our humanity. And so we learn to taste the fullness of what life can be -- and as a fish, well, that's like a journey that starts in the river and leads to the sea. Maybe Lindaland is that seed, who knows. It can't be all that bad. Take heart. IP: Logged |
