Metrosexuals are men who are not gay, but enjoy feminine ways of life. For one thing, they enjoy shopping and looking really good. In basic terminology they're pretty boys. Do I prefer them? Why not! Justin Timberlake and Freddie Prince Jr. are metrosexuals. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Oh, I dunno...I wouldn't catagorize it as a"feminine" way of life. It's more of a cosmopolitan way of life. Urbane refined. Homosapian walking upright, and then some. I liiiike it. IP: Logged |

Why not look good? Although I can't help but think of the old Carly Simon song, "You're So Vain". It's about time some pop artist did a remake of that! Just for the added irony! IP: Logged |

Yeah... this artical hit home for me when I read this first paragraph and I did everything except one of the things to be "metrosexual" Then I took the quiz... and turned out to NOT be as Metrosexual as I thought... The last 5-6 questions we ALL WRONG for me... Guess I'm not the ultra-hip fashionable feminine hipster I thought I could POSSIBLY BE... This is why I don't read trend magazines IP: Logged |

Nobody is hip, there is no such thing. Maybe it's where I come from, but where I go to school, kids come with their pagamas on, and they wear pretty much the same clothes throughout the whole year. Then again, I'm from a suburban near Boston, and we're all just nerds and posers in the first place. I don't consider myself fashionable. I like bargains! I don't hold a lot of respect for people who care too much about their clothes. I only go to the mall once or twice a year. And I survive perfectly in society. I like people who are clean and neat. It's not a problem for me if they've worn the same clothes for years and years. As long as they are clean. I don't respect people who are too flashy with jewelry and designer wear. I think it's horrible for people to pay hundereds of dollars for casual clothes. Formal is an exception. But people who think their getting better clothes by paying so much money, are acting like idiots. And being an idiot is very uncool. -StarLover IP: Logged |

For some reason, the idea of metrosexuals irritates me a little. If you're a narcissistic style-freak, you're supposed to be gay! It's like metrosexuals are taking the best of the gay and merging it with heterosexuality. What plagiarism.------------------ Hello everybody! Then perhaps it's just a culture thing and not psychological. Which comes down to the fact that it really doesn't matter. Also Metro makes me think of Metropolitan, which makes me think of "city-types". So if you live in the city you're more likely to act that way. Like the women from Sex and the City, for instance. -StarLover IP: Logged |

Right, it's only a culture thing! I mean if I was with a bunch of socialites then I would be a little more dressy. But I'm not, I don't relate, and neither do most guys. But my feelings would be, if you put Justin Timberlake next to Kurt Warner from the Rams. And you asked me to choose between them, then I would pick Kurt Warner, because he is more rugged more masculine. Not necessarily attractive. Justin Timberlake would mostly be my friend. Does that sound bad? I don't need anymore feminine qualities. I'm a woman I want masculinity. Which city are you speaking of, San Diego? -StarLover IP: Logged |

A yummy guy is a yummy guy. PERIOD. As long as he doens't smell bad, it's all good. There's something about a man who makes an effort to be more esthetically pleasing that tells me he has a social conscience. Which is Good.IP: Logged |

Back atcha QoS... I agree, the straight world is co-opting some allegedly gay male turf... what is that tv show where gay men give a hopelessly unfashionable straight guy a makeover? But is it OK, if the people behind the "metrosexual" term are, themselves gay... This is where co-opting gets veddy, veddy confusing. IP: Logged |
